About L3HARRIS WESCAM
As a subsidiary of L3Harris Technologies and within the Integrated Mission Systems Segment, the WESCAM division develops the most advanced optical sensor and targeting systems for global defense and military sectors, National Security, Search & Rescue and Airborne law enforcement agencies. From long-range covert surveillance missions to search and rescue operations, our MX-series systems, and the mission systems solutions they are a part of, produce stabilized high-magnification electro-optical and infrared images from airborne, marine and ground based platforms, enabling our customers to see first and act first.
About the Role
This is a 16 month co-op term (with 12 month terms occasionally available).This role focuses on supporting the manufacturing engineering team in the creation of assembly procedures, mechanical assembly drawings, and other tasks as they arise.
Primary Responsibilities
- Responsible for creating and maintaining Manufacturing Assembly Procedures (MAPs)
- Implement MAP and parts list changes
- Support production activities and issues on a daily basis
- Assist in the development of manufacturing processes and procedures for Production
- Responsible for the timely completion of tasks assigned by the Manufacturing Engineering Department
- Create and update mechanical assembly drawings
Required Capabilities
- Must have experience with a solid modeling CAD package(Preferably SolidWorks and/or AutoCAD)
- Familiar with Electro-Mechanical Manufacturing Processes
- Able to read and understand Mechanical and Electrical assembly drawings
- Experience and high interest in shop floor control activities
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Word and Excel
- Must be well organized, goal oriented and able to give attention to detail • Strong communication and written skills are a must
Desired Education and Experiences
- Enrolled in a Community College or University Mechanical Engineering Program
