Job Description:
L3Harris’ Enterprise Data and AI team is seeking a Senior Manager, Data Architecture & Strategy to lead the design, governance, and stewardship of the company’s enterprise data ontology and semantic models. This role will oversee the team responsible for defining enterprise-wide data architecture standards, managing business ontologies and taxonomies, and ensuring that data structures enable interoperability, scalability, and clarity across the organization.
The selected individual will be accountable for aligning our data ontology with business priorities, driving consistency across systems, and ensuring that our semantic layer supports analytics, AI/ML, and operational use cases across the enterprise. This leader will partner with business units, IT, and data governance stakeholders to deliver a cohesive data architecture strategy that underpins L3Harris’ Unified Data Layer and Palantir Foundry environment.
Essential Functions:
- Lead and grow the Data Architecture & Strategy team, driving a culture of accountability, innovation, and excellence.
- Own the enterprise ontology framework, ensuring consistent business definitions, semantic alignment, and compliance with governance standards.
- Oversee Palantir platform management, including security and access controls, user onboarding and support, monitoring of platform resource allocation, and intake of new use cases.
- Collaborate with business and IT leaders to translate business needs into ontology frameworks, enabling analytics, AI/ML, and operational use cases.
- Ensure metadata, lineage, and documentation are accurate, accessible, and adopted across the enterprise.
- Partner with governance and engineering teams to ensure definitions, lineage, and metadata are documented, accessible, and adopted across the enterprise.
- Communicate architecture strategy and ontology standards to technical and non-technical audiences, ensuring broad understanding and adoption.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Management and and minimum 12 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 10 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 16 years of prior related experience.
- 10 years of experience in data architecture, data management, or related fields, including 5+ years in a leadership role.
- 5+ years experience with Palantir Foundry.
Preferred Additional Skills:
- Demonstrated success in leading cross-functional teams and delivering enterprise-wide data architecture strategies.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to translate complex technical concepts into business value.
- Experience in aerospace, defense, or other highly regulated industries.
- Understanding of ERP and operational data structures (Oracle EBS, SAP ECC/S4, Costpoint, etc.).
- Exposure to AI/ML initiatives and how ontologies enable advanced analytics.
