About L3HARRIS WESCAM
As a subsidiary of L3Harris Technologies and within the Integrated Mission Systems Segment, the WESCAM division develops the most advanced optical sensor and targeting systems for global defense and military sectors, National Security, Search & Rescue and Airborne law enforcement agencies. From long-range covert surveillance missions to search and rescue operations, our MX-series systems, and the mission systems solutions they are a part of, produce stabilized high-magnification electro1-optical and infrared images from airborne, marine and ground based platforms, enabling our customers to see first and act first.
About the Role
This will be a 16 month co-op term (12 month terms are occasionally available) working with our materials and stores team.
Primary Responsibilities
Daily tasks to support the Operations Team and better understand Materials Management:
- Participate in a continuous improvement team to add value to the current materials process
- Pick parts for Assembly kits
- Backfill and deliver part shortages to the production floor
- Receive material from the dock
- Put away material from the receiving dock and or shop floor
- Cycle count material, and ability to trace back to root cause of inventory discrepancy
- Ability to transact material into our ERP system (LN )
- Support the CSG stores team if work load is high- by picking parts
- Transfer material to shipping- pick parts, complete paperwork and physically move material from stores to shipping location
- Able to move <50lbs with assistance ( cart)
Required Capabilities
- Highly energized, task/ results oriented
- Able to work well with various departments
- Good communication skills
- Good Organization skills
- Timely Completion of tasks
- Attention to detail
- Strong data entry skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel
- Knowledge of Jira/Confluence is beneficial
Desired Education and Experiences
- University or College level- Operations / Materials back ground or relative experience
- Knowledge on how to do Root Cause Corrective Action
