Job Description

The Sr. Specialist, Security Operations supports the execution of physical and personnel security programs in a dynamic corporate environment. This role partners closely with the Security team, Facilities, IT, regulators, and other stakeholders to ensure security activities, facility requirements, and personnel actions comply with customer, federal, and company regulations, including U.S. government classified program requirements.

The ideal candidate brings strong attention to detail, sound judgment, and working knowledge of physical security technologies, construction security standards, and compliance requirements. This individual must be able to operate effectively across cross-functional teams while maintaining the highest levels of professionalism, discretion, and confidentiality.

Essential Functions

• Support the development, implementation, and enforcement of physical and operational security standards to ensure facilities, construction, and modifications comply with federal and company security requirements.
• Conduct routine inspections, testing, and functional verification of security equipment, intrusion detection systems, access control systems, and other protective technologies; document findings and resolve discrepancies as required.
• Maintain accurate, complete, and audit-ready security documentation and records in support of regulatory reviews and inspections.
• Provide escort support for individuals and groups in sensitive or classified areas.
• Assist with compliance activities, including security audits, protection system configuration, and incident response.
• Partner with Facilities, contractors, and corporate stakeholders to ensure security requirements are incorporated into construction, renovation, and facility upgrade projects.
• Respond promptly to alarms, security incidents, and emergent situations; support investigations and corrective actions as directed.
• Research, interpret, and apply federal, industry, customer, and company security standards to site-specific operations, facilities, and construction activities.
• Stay current on evolving security technologies, industry best practices, and applicable regulations; contribute to continuous improvement efforts across the security function.
• Perform other duties as assigned in support of the overall security mission.
• Travel up to 5% as required.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 6 years of prior related experience, or a graduate degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, a minimum of 8 years of prior related experience is required.
• Active Top Secret U.S. security clearance required at time of hire.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with physical security requirements associated with IC Tech Spec for ICD/ICS 705, 32 CFR Part 117 (NISPOM), and UL 2050.
• Experience supporting construction security planning, facility accreditations, or oversight of renovation and upgrade projects within classified environments.
• Working knowledge of standards and best practices for protecting classified information, systems, and facilities.
• Experience with video monitoring systems, access control systems, intrusion detection systems, and the Microsoft Office suite.
• Familiarity with IT network configurations, system connectivity, and security safeguards as they relate to physical security systems.
• Relevant industry certifications such as CPP, PSP, ISP, or PSC.
• Strong technical aptitude, adaptability, and commitment to professional growth.
• Demonstrated familiarity with intrusion detection systems, access control technologies, physical construction methods, and UL 2050 requirements related to security compliance.
• Strong English communication skills, both written and verbal; Spanish language proficiency is a plus.
• Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work effectively across all organizational levels.
• Strong attention to detail, dependability, and professional demeanor.
• Proven ability to independently research, interpret, and apply complex security policies, standards, and regulations.
• Demonstrated sound judgment, diplomacy, discretion, and the ability to handle sensitive information appropriately.
• Ability to work a standard business schedule, with occasional evening support for urgent or emergent needs.
• Ability to move throughout a large corporate campus and stand for extended periods, up to one hour at a time.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, climb ladders, bend, and perform physical inspections and basic equipment maintenance.
