Job Description:
The International Program Management team is seeking a Senior Manager (L6) to lead a team and oversee the cost, schedule, and technical performance requirements of programs from inception to completion. The individual in this role will supervise a team of three junior Program Managers and will be accountable for achieving the Annual Operating Plan (AOP) objectives for the Canada/United Kingdom (CANUK) sub-region. Responsibilities include guiding the team, collaborating with cross-functional groups, and engaging with customers and in country personnel to ensure the timely and on-budget execution of program orders from pre-quotation through delivery, acceptance, and payment.
Essential Functions:
- Lead a team of three PMs to achieve key business objectives.
- Manage program orders from pre-quotation through to delivery, acceptance and payment to ensure customer and business needs are met.
- Manage programs to achieve quarterly orders, revenue, operating income & cash flow targets.
- Collaborate with Finance, Trade Compliance, and Business Planning functions to plan and track progress towards quarterly goals.
- Ensure all resources such as Engineering, Technical Support, Production and Facilities are available and aligned to meet program objectives.
- Collaborate with Sales, Customers, and International Representatives to determine needs, requirements and new business opportunities.
- Assist in the preparation of proposals, proposal work statements, work breakdown structures, specifications, operating budgets and, financial terms and conditions of a sale.
- Identify risk, develop and implement corrective action when necessary to initiate program changes.
- Control expenditures within the limitations of the project budget and regularly report on project budget to actual performance.
- Create and maintain project plans and action item lists.
- Communicate with stakeholders within and outside of department and may occasionally have responsibility for communicating with parties external to the organization.
- International travel within the region as needed, generally 5-10% travel to UK and Canada per year.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 6 years of prior relevant experience, or, Graduate Degree and a minimum of 4 years of prior related experience
Preferred Additional Skills:
- Ability to obtain a US SECRET clearance desired.
- Knowledge of international shipping terms and export control regulations; general understanding of export of ITAR and EAR controlled materials.
- Experience with MS Office suite of tools, including Outlook, Word, PowerPoint and Excel.
- Experience with ORACLE ERP, Agile PLM, Microsoft Dynamics CRM, and SharePoint
- Defense industry experience; tactical military communications knowledge a plus
- Previous experience working on Foreign Military Sales (FMS), Direct Commercial Sales (DCS), or other forms of government contracts or direct commercial sales contracts
- International experience and/or managing international programs. Experience in Canada or the United Kingdom a plus
- Experience with Microsoft Project or other scheduling tools a plus
- PMP Certification a plus
