About your next Challenge as a Lead, Engineering Operations and Special Projects:

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced systems engineer with software experience to join our growing Engineering team. In this role, you will be responsible for architecting and implementing innovative solutions to complex business and technical challenges related to internal and external projects.You will work closely with cross-functional teams (product, sales, engineering) to understand their needs and deliver high-impact solutions. This role will involve handling special projects that require deep technical expertise, strategic thinking, and the ability to drive results.This position has a significant visibility with Executive leadership and customer counterparts

What will you do:

  • Engineering operations: Support the engineering team to produce engineering metrics aligning to business Key Performance Indicators (KPI). Support continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Special Projects Management: Lead and execute special projects from inception to completion, ensuring alignment with business objectives and technical standards.
  • Technical Leadership: Provide technical guidance and mentorship to other engineers, particularly on special projects.
  • Solution Architecture: Design and implement robust, scalable, and maintainable solutions to address complex business problems.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with product, sales, and engineering teams to gather requirements, define solutions, and ensure successful implementation.
  • Innovation: Research and evaluate new technologies to improve our products and processes.
  • Documentation: Create and maintain technical documentation for solutions and processes.
  • Problem Solving: Identify and resolve technical roadblocks and challenges.
  • Assume responsibility for projects assigned to your organizational unit. Through your participation in the review of all key program milestones, lead and influence the program’s technical development and help ensure the technical integrity from the system in accordance with the company's policies, priorities and budget targets
  • Collaborate on optimal growth with business development, program management and senior management teams. Communication within and outside of the organization to influence leadership to accept new practices, approaches, and concepts 
  • Act as an advisor to supervisors or staff to ensure that deadlines are met and that technical or operational constraints are resolved
  • Influence the smooth running of programs and projects through continuous improvement and accountability for quality, analysis of measures in place, such as the review of estimation criteria and the monitoring of technical performance indicators
  • Champion new concepts or technologies, manage the implementation of functional strategies and recommend operational plans that directly affect the short to mid-term function or business area results and will contribute in a tangible way to the overall results
  • Foster the company's growth by playing a key role in bidding (proposals), defining, evaluating, and setting up new projects

Required Skills and Experiences:

  • Strong self-directed technical leader with excellent interpersonal and influence skills, excellent verbal and written communication, as well as presentation skills
  • Bachelor’s degree in an Engineering field (Electrical, Software, Mechanical, or Computer Engineering) and a minimum of 10 years of relevant technical experience related to L3Harris product lines (real-time environment, simulation, etc.). 
  • At least 8 years of Management experience in technical program/project management, leading, managing and supervising a team, and supporting multiple programs
  • Experience interfacing with senior management, peers, and employees
  • Experience working with customers and subcontractors
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the aptitude to develop and execute a strategy
  • Organizational skills for keeping track of various budgets and schedules simultaneously
  • Broad understanding of engineering processes with a proven ability to provide technical leadership and guidance to the discipline areas
  • Excellent team building skills; know how to integrate well within several specialties and organizations
  • Capable of multitasking between 2 or more projects
  • Proven experience in solution architecture and design.
  • Ability to work independently and lead cross-functional teams.
  • Bilingualism (French, English). The English language, in addition to the french language, is required due to contractual requirements. 

Assets

  • Experience with security automation and vulnerability management.
  • Strong programming skills (C, C++, C#, Java, Python, etc.)
  • Experience with database administration (e.g., Microsoft SQL, MySQL, PostgreSQL, MariaDB, etc.).
  • Proficiency with scripting languages (e.g., Bash, etc.).

Eligibility Criteria (Mandatory):

·Must be eligible for registration with the Controlled Goods Program;

·Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a government of Canada “Reliability” status and Level 2 (Secret) security clearance.

·Must be eligible to meet the requirements for U.S. International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).
