Job Description:

The Production Support role is responsible for assisting the department supervisor with coordination of work assignments, training new employees and completion of daily reports and paperwork.  This role will handle various production issues and is the resource to others for resolution of complex problems and issues. The Production Support role will need to lead others effectively and gain cooperation without having formal authority over them.

Essential Functions:

  • Effectively communicate with all employees in a professional manner. 
  • Maintain data charts, cell metric board, and other pertinent program information. 
  • Maintain the daily shipping book to highlight early any shipping risks and work with relevant others to mitigate the risks.
  • Assist in maintaining department compliance with policies, procedures, and standards including training sign off of team personnel. 
  • Ensure team members are properly trained for assigned duties, including program cross training and completion of on the job training. 
  • Work closely with supervisors and engineering to develop efficient techniques to maximize throughput. 
  • Actively participate in program meetings and serve as a resource in the resolution of problems and issues related to production. 
  • Support and promote Lean Manufacturing efforts including 5S, execution and adherence to playbooks where applicable, and explanation of the cell communication board metrics to anyone who inquires.
  • Acting POC in place of supervisor when needed.
  • Able to provide input regarding employee performance and conduct.
  • Reading part prints.
  • Able to obtain and maintain a DoD Clearance.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Requires highly develped job knowledge/skills. Typically obtained through a combination of education and experience.
    • Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent with eight (8) years of prior Manufacturing experience
    • 2 years post-Secondary/associate degree with a minimum of four (4) years of prior Manufacturing experience.
  • J-STD-001 Solder Certified.
  • 2 years’ experience training other employees.
  • 2 years’ experience on Surface Mount Technology (SMT) lines.
  • Must be a US Citizen.

Preferred Additional Skills:

  • Familiar with DAVE and DCS.
