Job Title: Design Specialist - Aerospace (Temporary 12 months)

Compensation Range: Between $75,000 - $125,000 CDN annually
The candidate will be primarily responsible for designing modifications to aircraft secondary structures, mechanical systems, and interior layouts. They will be required to develop Engineering Orders (EO) and Repair Engineering Orders (REO), while providing effective technical support to our clients and partners.
As part of their duties, they will analyze and make decisions based on design-for-manufacturing and assembly principles, functionality requirements, material availability, interchangeability, weight constraints, and certification requirements.
The work will involve a variety of aerospace platforms, including the CF 18, CC150, CC330, CT 114, as well as commercial-sector projects. The candidate will play a key role within the team and assume several essential responsibilities related to assigned projects.
Essential Functions:
- Designing modifications to aircraft structures, mechanical systems, and interior layouts;
- Analyzing technical issues and proposing complete, innovative, and compliant design solutions;
- Contributing to the development of commercial projects (missionization, interiors, various improvements);
- Producing, reviewing, and approving the technical documentation required for project execution (drawings, reports, technical instructions, etc.);
- Ensuring compliance with design specifications and maintaining the quality, safety, and airworthiness of the aerospace products supported by the company;
- Acting as a technical liaison with internal and external partners;
- Meeting project schedule and budget constraints.
Qualifications:
- Extensive experience in aircraft structural design and modification;
- Experience in aircraft interior design;
- A minimum of 7 years of experience in the areas listed above;
- Strong knowledge of certification rules (especially flammability) is a significant asset;
- Proficiency with CATIA V6 and 3DEXPERIENCE is an asset;
- Previous experience working on aging aircraft platforms is an asset;
- Demonstrated motivation to improve both intra team and cross team collaboration;
- Bilingual (French/English) is an asset;
- A responsible, efficient, and proactive employee is sought.
Eligibility Criteria:
- Must be eligible for registration with the Controlled Goods Program;
- Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a government of Canada Reliability status and Secret Level 2/NATO Secret security clearance;
- Must be eligible to meet the requirements for U.S. International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).
