Primary Responsibilities
- Accountable for organizing, planning and implementing the manufacturing and service plans for Waterdown including production deliverables and production assembly operations for a team of 200+ employees.
- Assist senior leadership in formulating strategic plans and take the lead role to implement the approved plans
- Establish 1 and 2-year operating plans (budgets) necessary to achieve the goals of the overall strategic plan with least amount of overhead and raw material costs.
- Ensure all staff are aligned with L3Harris’ mission, vision, values, goals and the overall objectives
- Responsible for executing a continuous improvement program and achieving corresponding savings
- Defines, schedules, and manages all cost proposal activities for manufacturing related elements of proposals.
- Direct key manufacturing personnel and collaborate with key staff in Quality and Program Management
- Ensure compliance to Environmental Health & Safety and security guidelines
- Ensure the quality of manufactured items is in conformance with AS9100 certification and appropriate procedures are followed
- Initiate and coordinate major projects (e.g. plant layout changes, capital equipment installs, major repairs, etc.)
- Review monthly results with senior leadership to evaluate progress toward achievement of operating plans. Identify and implement appropriate business metrics to monitor performance and communicate with staff.
- Ensure customer satisfaction through delivery of high quality products and services on time and at BOM cost. Take corrective action in case of any product or related quality problems which impact on customer satisfaction.
- Direct management and oversight of Manufacturing, Service, Operations Engineering, Planning, EH&S and Facilities
- Manage, mentor and train staff as appropriate. Recommend staff for promotion/increased responsibility or change in duties as appropriate. Conduct associated staff performance reviews.

Desired Education and Experiences
- Business/Technology Degree or Diploma in Operations Management
- 10+ years of Production Management in a manufacturing environment
- Knowledge of precision optics is an asset
