About the Role
Responsible for maintaining the entire capital asset process, including planning, forecasting, accounting policy compliance, general ledger recording, depreciation, and disposal. Prepares income and balance sheet, profit and loss, consolidated and other accounting statements. Reviews and interprets financial reporting requirements, rules and regulations. Responsible for the adherence to and communication of accounting and auditing policies and procedures. May design, modify, install and/or maintain general accounting systems.
Primary Responsibilities
- Manage Capital Asset process including:
- Strong knowledge and understanding of US GAAP pertaining to recognition of CIP, acquisitions, disposals, and depreciation
- Facilitating and partnering with other departments to assemble annual Capital plan and periodic forecasts
- Assist with the compilation of Capital Business Cases (including cash flow preparation) and manage the Capital Requisition approval process
- Regularly present Capital requests and progress to other levels of L3Harris
- Compile wide-ranging Capital data and use this to report up through various levels of the Organization
- Preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual operations statements (Excel file and HFM)
- Reconcile monthly General Ledger accounts
- Analyze monthly department costs compared to forecast
- Record various Asset data and journal entries in the ERP
- Perform balance sheet and P&L variance analyses
- Model and prepare supplemental reporting calculations for Capital
- Special projects as assigned
- Handle inquiries from internal and external auditors including Sarbanes Oxley requirements
- Ad hoc tasks as requested by the Assistant Controller

Desired Education and Experiences
- Requires strong knowledge of job area.
- Typically viewed as having a specialty within discipline.
- May have broad knowledge of project management.
- Bachelor’s Degree with an emphasis in Business / Accounting Finance and minimum 6 years of prior relevant experience.
- Graduate Degree and a minimum of 4 years of prior related experience.
- In lieu of a degree, minimum of 10 years of prior related experience.
- 3+ years of accounting experience in a manufacturing environment desired
- CPA/CA/CMA/CGA (or progressing towards a CPA) encouraged
