Job Description:

The EHS Hazwaste Technician position will be responsible for two critical functions within EHS: hazardous waste management and wastewater treatment. This position will manage hazardous waste in compliance with EPA and TCEQ requirements and serve as the site’s wastewater treatment subject matter expert in accordance with EPA, TCEQ, and City of Waco regulations.


Essential Functions:

  • Operate and manage the site's Wastewater Treatment Facility in compliance with state and federal regulations.
  • Pick up hazardous waste and maintain Satellite Waste Accumulation areas across the site.
  • Manage 90-day hazardous waste accumulation area and waste compactor.
  • Coordinate hazardous waste transportation and disposal within regulatory timeframes.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain correct EPA/RCRA/DOT certifications.
  • Sign waste manifests, ensuring compliance with EPA Regulations.
  • Follow all safety and compliance policies and procedures.
  • Effective and safe operation of forklift and other related equipment.
  • Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Willingness and ability to work alternate shifts as needed.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance.


Qualifications:

  • Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 4 years of prior relevant experience or 2 years post-Secondary/Associates Degree with 0 to 2 years of prior related experience.
  • Minimum 1 year experience in wastewater treatment and/or RCRA / DOT hazardous waste.
  • Must be a US citizen.


Preferred Additional Skills:

  • Experience with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Project and PowerPoint).
  • Demonstrated leadership.
  • Able to work independently with little to no supervison.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrate creative problem-solving capabilities.
