Job Description:
The Aircraft Electrical Assembly and Installation Technician is responsible for the lay out, fabrication, and installation of electrical wiring and coaxial cable on aircraft, vehicles or transportation equipment in accordance with drawings, technical manuals or other written instructions.
Essential Functions:
- Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance.
- Performing mechanical/electrical modifications/installs, aircraft inspections or repairs, sometimes in confined spaces.
- Willingness and ability to learn Mechanical Assembly and Installation.
- A full understanding of technical drawings and aircraft maintenance manuals.
- Familiarity with general industry standards on quality expectations.
- Knowledge of general aircraft electrical systems and assembly principles and techniques.
- Ability to be certified to operate vehicles such as forklifts, scissor lifts, and boom lifts.
- Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
- Willingness and ability to work overtime, any shift, and weekends as required to meet business objectives.
- Willingness and ability to travel up to 50% as required.
Qualifications:
- Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 6 years of prior relevant experience or 2 years post-Secondary/Associates Degree with a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience.
- Minimum 2 years aircraft electrical assembly and install experience.
- Ability to pass pre-employment background, drug, & medical screening; subject to FAA requirements and random substance abuse screening.
- Must be a U.S. citizen.
Preferred Additional Skills:
- Active TS/SCI security clearance.
- Proficient with Microft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- A&P license.
- Effective communication skills.
- Strong team member.
- Proven ability to work independently to complete tasks with minimal supervision.
