Position Overview:
L3Harris is seeking a highly skilled and creative Executive and Internal Communications Business Partner to join our Corporate Executive and Internal Communications team. This role will support the development and execution of communications strategies that engage and inform employees, align with organizational goals, and elevate the company’s culture. The successful candidate will collaborate with leaders, subject matter experts, and the broader communications team to create impactful internal content that connects employees to L3Harris’ mission, leadership, and business priorities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work closely with senior leaders and business partners to develop and implement internal communication strategies, campaigns, and initiatives.
- Write clear, engaging content for internal communications, including employee campaigns, leadership messages, newsletters, scripts, presentations, and digital content.
- Edit and refine content for clarity, accuracy, and adherence to AP Style, ensuring messages are effective and aligned with corporate goals.
- Partner with cross-functional teams to create and manage editorial calendars, aligning content across segments and functions.
- Develop creative ideas and collaborate with design teams to produce graphics, infographics, and videos that complement editorial content.
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting aggressive deadlines and maintaining a high standard of quality.
- Provide support during crisis communications and help manage sensitive messaging.
- Monitor industry trends and best practices to recommend new strategies and innovative solutions.
- Cultivate strong relationships with stakeholders at all levels, ensuring open communication channels across the organization.
- Assist in the development of internal websites and digital signage content to keep employees informed and engaged.
- Occasional travel (up to 25%) may be required, as needed.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Communications, Journalism, Marketing or related field and minimum 9 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 7 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 13 years of prior related experience.
- Minimum 6 years of experience in internal/external communications, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Preferred Skills:
- Proven ability to create clear, compelling written content and edit materials for clarity and accuracy.
- Experience in producing a wide range of communication types, including articles, videos, infographics, and internal communications.
- Strong understanding of modern communication tools, platforms, and trends (e.g., SharePoint, Microsoft Office Suite).
- Experience in writing and editing content in AP Style.
- Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment while maintaining strong attention to detail.
- Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with employees at all levels of the organization.
- Creative, with a passion for storytelling and presenting complex topics in an engaging, accessible manner.
- Prior experience supporting corporate / executive communications is a plus.
- Knowledge of analytics and experience using data to drive communication strategies and improvements is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with event planning and coordination.
- Experience in producing omni-channel content (e.g., video, web, print).
- Strong technical proficiency in digital communication tools and platforms.
- Ability to think outside the box and propose innovative solutions to communications challenges.
In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role in Colorado State, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, Vermont and New York State is $71,500-$132,500. For California, Seattle, Washington D.C., Maryland Greater Washington D.C. area, the city of Denver, Washington State and New York City, the salary range for this role is $82,500- $153,000. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
