Job Descriptions
The Lead Systems Engineer will spearhead the expansion of L3Harris's systems solutions within Western Europe's communication modernization programs. This role is pivotal in leading technical discussions, formulating systems architectures, and crafting bespoke C4ISR solutions that incorporate TCOM products into diverse platforms. Based in the Netherlands, the position demands regional travel and active participation in the establishment of a regional office and integration facility.
Level 5 Systems Engineer required to lead the development of the customers Unmanned platforms Transmission Architecture. A Systems Engineer will be a focal member of customer’s design, integration, testing, and fielding efforts. This position is initially funded for 2 years with extensions possible.
Essential Functions:
- Lead the creation of detailed and scalable Transmission Architectures and System Concepts of Use. Customize solutions to fit customer-specific requirements and applications, leveraging both legacy and emerging communication technologies.
- Design comprehensive system architectures specifically for Unmanned Ground Systems (UGS).
- Be the primary technical POC within customer development teams for their architecture, leveraging L3Harris Radio and modern MANET Waveforms.
- Assist with the physical integration designs and plans or radio products into numerous platform types including UGS and UAVs.
- Conduct design and integration activities of L3Harris products with third-party systems, including intercom systems, electronics, software applications, and power systems.
- Create and support detailed project plans, schedules, and budgets, while coordinating with numerous resources to ensure all projects are delivered on-time, within scope, and within budget.
- Prepare white papers and presentations, and present custom systems solutions directly to customers.
- Influence Product PLM and Engineering to influence technical product changes and roadmaps based on significant customer requirements.
- Coordinate with Sales, Program and Project Management to translate customer requirements, including informal ones, into balanced technical, schedule, and cost solutions.
- Provide mentorship within the Systems Engineering organization and work effectively with internal and external stakeholders to complete projects.
- Ability to lead cross-functional teams and work collaboratively in a team environment.
Qualifications:
- BSEE/BSME/BSCE/BSSE with 9+ years of experience or a master’s degree with 7+ years of work experience.
- 7+ years of demonstrated experience in Systems Architecture, Design and Integration with relevant technologies.
- U.S. citizenship required; must be able to obtain and maintain a US Secret and NATO Secret security clearance.

- Proficient understanding of systems engineering principles and practices.

- Proficiency in model-based systems engineering (MBSE) tools and methodologies.
- Experience with requirements management and system modeling tools.
- Knowledge of Multi-Level Security (MLS) and Federated Mission Networking (FMN) Framework Process for net-centric operations.
- Strong technical proposal experience, including detailed scheduling, work breakdown structure development, basis of estimates development, and technical writing.
In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role in New York state is $110,500 - $205,500 This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
