In the land domain, our T7 and T4 multi-mission robots deliver next-generation remote capabilities and uncompromised performance. We design and manufacture world-leading land force protection systems, cyber and electromagnetic activities (CEMA), electronic warfare (EW) and encryption capabilities. Our cyber capabilities provide an information advantage in the fields of kinetic conflict, cyber warfare, force protection and counterterrorism.
The Marketing and Communication Leader will be the spear head of Marketing across the division; leading the team to execute a high standard of marketing and strategy for the business whilst also ensuring the support of core business functions with the engagement and retention agenda.
This specialist role will need to translate the business and development strategy to ensure their team can execute in an effective way. They would also need to be hands on with the marketing and engagement strategy for internal needs that include; TA marketing and HR engagement activities including social value and ERGs. This is a specialist role, where influence, credibility with stakeholders, and exceptional networking/communications skills are required in order to navigate the complexities of a large global defence organisation, a matrix structure, and diverse technologies.

What the role will involve
The responsibilities of your role will include the following:
- Set the annual marketing strategy for your product line and ensure budget is provisioned for the delivery
- Manage the marketing team ensuring they are delivering to a high standard and continuously adding value to the business
- Work autonomously feeding into the business development director on what the marketing and comms strategy needs to be for the division and where appropriate, the UK
- Ensure there is collaboration and engagement with key internal stakeholders at all levels and across the business from both yourself and your team, so all needs are being met
- Support the team in liaising with external suppliers and agencies in support of a range of marketing activities
- Partner with HR and TA to ensure all internal and external marketing needs are being met inline with the attraction and retention strategy for the division.
- Lead and write the content and copy that sits outside your business partners
- Set the scene for excellence on campaign management ensuring your team deliver to this standard and maintain the consistent brand and voice of L3 Harris, regardless of the product
- Partner with HR on best practices around engagement events and ensure support is provided for all Marketing needs based on priorities
- Lead and advise on the best media streams to deliver campaigns for the business thinking about cost, efficiency and performance
- Set the strategy of the annual cycle of business events to ensure they are budgeted for and resourced fully
- Acting as a game changer, challenging the way things are doing and providing realistic solutions in how it can be done better
- Ensure you have a strong relationship with the UK Head of Marketing and Communication and global corporate Marketing to be consistent with the national and global brand
- Have a clear mind and ability to navigate a global matrixed organisation
What you’ll bring
The role requires the following experience and skills:
- Experience in campaign management and what it entails
- Strong understanding around brand identity
- Demonstratable experience in management multiple relationships with relevant stakeholders
- Excellent communication skills to be able to build relationships with all relevant stakeholders
- Experience in working across multiple stakeholders
- Experience in working in a highly matrixed organisation
- The ability to juggle multiple projects
- Previous experience within a relevant marketing profession with either a recognised apprenticeship, appropriate degree, formal qualification or equivalent relevant work experience
- Understanding of integrated marketing campaigns
- Experience of digital marketing techniques
- Experience of using a marketing CRM/automation toolset
- Understanding a wide range of methods/formats of communication
- Significant experience using Adobe suite including InDesign and Photoshop (desirable)
- Good interpersonal skills to allow effective collaboration with both front end and technical staff and the ability to work across functions
- Ability to plan and prioritise work to meet team objectives and deadlines
- A continuous improvement mind-set and a strive for excellence
