About this opportunity
The successful candidate will work effectively with senior division leadership as well as business development, technical and functional entities for the purpose of achieving segment international financial goals by engaging customers, identifying potential business opportunities, and supporting corporate and segment strategic growth activities. This position will be within the Space and Airborne Systems segment, supporting sectors and divisions, and will lead the division’s international growth campaign, specifically working with sector and divisions businesses to protect and expand current and future international business opportunities, and to expand L3Harris international partnerships.
What the role will involve
The responsibilities of your role will include the following:
- Lead Space and Airborne Systems initiatives associated with all international new business growth within the Asia-Pacific region
- Serve as liaison to the segment growth initiatives representing Space and Airborne Systems
- Help identify new markets, unmet needs and opportunities for sector and division campaign initiation
- Support sector and division businesses with business development activities, including customer engagement, new opportunity identification and development, and supporting in-region meetings, trade shows, and conferences
- Act as primary segment focal point for day-to-day customer activities in region where needed
- Support the collection of competitive intelligence and information to enhance L3Harris understanding of customers and competitors’ strategies
- Work jointly with the Global Business Development team and other segments in region to develop large scale cross-segment opportunities and other synergies
- Create and foster a business acumen culture which embraces a strategic, proactive approach in supporting business area leaders with identifying, actively pursuing and closing new business
- Assist capture teams in the preparation of competitive assessments and win strategy development
- Represent the business customer meetings, Industry related meetings and conferences
- Collaborate with BD team including marketing communications, business development leaders, and capture teams

- Support the qualification process of new opportunities and “connect the dots” between other L3Harris segments/sectors/divisions to ensure we provide best value to customers
- Understand and influence segment strategies with customer perspectives
- Embrace a culture of “continual learning” to improve our understanding of the technical drivers our existing and potential new customers seek to improve their missions
- Understand the fundamental Space and Airborne Systems portfolio and capabilities
- Translate technical understanding of products and technology for purposes of customer communication and engagement
- Estimate and manage new business funds for pursuing new business opportunities and participate in strategic planning for internal research and development
- Execute campaign strategies relative to business capture planning
- Lead / support business acquisition process milestone/gate reviews; to include opportunity identification, qualification, pursuit, pre-proposal, and proposal processes
- Act as a change agent for the business, ensuring strategies and campaigns are mission and customer focused.
- Organize participation in forums/conferences to further position L3Harris as a thought leader in the space and airborne markets we serve, related to specific strategic opportunities.
What you’ll bring
The role requires the following experience and skills:
- 15+ years of experience engaging with senior executives at government agencies, major prime contractors, and commercial companies
- Bachelor's degree or higher with a minimum of 15 years of experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 20 years of prior related experience.
- Disciplined, self-starting professional who can bring projects to closure with minimum direction, guidance and oversight
- Experience leading new business pursuits
- Ability to lead and develop relationships with geographically dispersed people
- Demonstrated ability in competitive analysis, customer analysis, win strategy development, proposal and color team leadership and price-to win analysis
- Fundamental understanding of the SAS portfolio of solutions, products, target customers, target markets, and the way we operate
- Strong understanding of local laws, business practices, culture and customs in region
- Full understanding of US and local export laws and regulations (including ITAR) and Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA)
- Established connections with government organizations and defense and aerospace customers; e.g., US ODCs, JUSMAGs, and Commercial Services, MoDs, branches of military, space and intelligence agencies, civil aviation authorities, local prime contractors, and industrial partners
- Ability to speak fluently in at least one local language is desired
- Strong track record for identifying, growing and winning new business
- Ability to support frequent “off hours” meetings; e.g., virtual meetings with US-based businesses during US work hours
- Executive presence and strong business acumen
- Must work independently under limited supervision
- Must have excellent oral and written communication skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft office tools
- Ability to relocate to region for an extended period of time (1-2 years +)
- Ability to travel frequently within territory, as needed, to support customer meetings, engagements, trade shows, and other business needs
