Job Description:

L3Harris Technologies has an opening for Space Operations Trainer for an important National Security Program.

The successful candidate will support a high performing team of government and contractor professionals to develop, deliver, and manage foundational, tradecraft, and positional training for space operations positions.  The candidate will be pivotal in supporting the health and safety of multiple ground and space assets and the infrastructure nodes.  The successful candidate will have experience with space operations, COA, and TTP execution, and the Space Warfighting mission. The successful candidate will also have demonstrated the ability to operate in a dynamic and high energy environment with constantly changing tasking and priorities.

Essential Functions: 

  • Conducting positional training to ensure technical proficiency to support operations.
  • Preparing new and/or updating procedures, checklists, Temporary Operating Instructions (TOIs), and training products.
  • Maintaining training records and readiness status for personnel performing these functions.
  • Conduct the strategic and operations planning training and readiness activities.
  • Matching training objectives with identified exercise/advanced training opportunities, and compiling into a presentation for senior leadership approval.
  • Conducting orientation overviews, and initial, recurring, and supplemental watch-floor related training for government and contractor personnel.
  • Participating in exercises and other government driven events to derive performance benchmarks and technical utility of delivered training.
  • Enhancing and measuring operator proficiency and utilization of tools through assessments such as detailed test scenarios to include stressing algorithms, workflows, and scenarios.
  • Work full time at a customer site in Colorado Springs.
  • Generate, share, present briefings and products for senior leadership and enterprise awareness.
  • Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.
  • Certify as BSA-N crew member and periodically work crew shifts that may include holidays, nights, and weekends.
  • Support the Chief of Training and Exercises as needed for training and exercise support.

Required Skills:

  • Active TS/SCI Clearance required with CI Poly required.
  • Bachelor’s Degree and a minimum of 9 years of prior related experience.  Graduate Degree and a minimum of 7 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 13 years of prior related experience.
  • Experience with Space Operations Training.

Preferred Skills:

  • Familiarity with basic orbital mechanics.
  • Familiarity with DoD/NRO spacecraft and missions.
  • Experience using astrodynamics tools such as STK, GMAT, and ODTK is a plus.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office suite programs, MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Effective communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Line/Staff instructor experience.

In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role is $108,500 - $201,500 This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location. The specific programs and options available to an employee may vary depending on date of hire, schedule type, and the applicability of collective bargaining agreements.
