Job Description:
This is a position supporting the Telemetry and RF sector of L3Harris Space and Airborne Systems. For the past 60+ years, Telemetry and RF Products has been an industry-leading provider of highly reliable and secure RF communication products for Space and Airborne missions.
L3Harris Technologies has an opening for a Lead, Integration & Test Engineer. This position will be on-site in San Diego, CA. The candidate will work in a fast-paced environment with high expectations, significantly diverse assignments, and a collaborative team setting.
This position will be responsible for leading the test effort through the product life cycle activities ranging from program inception, requirements analysis including testability, test architecture, to integration, test and production support activities. The Lead Integration & Test Engineer will define complex test strategies to verify mission capabilities while working with a team comprised of multiple internal organizations and sub-contractors for the full integration and test of the system. The role will include occasional direct support to Programs and Customers (internal & external) to ensure test execution activities for existing portfolio programs and support to future pursuits.
Essential Functions:
- Lead or support the integration and test of lower-level assemblies into sub-system (box) level testing
- Provide technical leadership to a team in the day-to-day during verification activities including functional, environmental qualification, and production tests
- Develop and execute verification plans, test procedures, and document test results in reports to ensure requirements are met
- Identify, record, document thoroughly, and track issues through to resolution
- Analyze test results, detect issues, and track root causes in collaboration with the development team
- Represent SI&T during major design reviews such as SRR, SDR, PDR, CDR, TRR
- Support to all phases of the product Life-Cycle (design, analysis, manufacturing, test, verification/validation and delivery)
- Collaborate and consult with cross-functional technical team (i.e. System Engineering, Project Engineering, Software Engineering) during requirements analysis phase including developing/updating requirements verification traceability matrix (RVTM) for completeness
- Travel (as needed) for post-delivery support and integration activities
- Work extended and weekend hours during I&T phases of the program
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree and a minimum 9 years of system or integration/test experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 7 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 13 years of prior related experience.
- 5+ years of experience of System Integration and Test (SI&T)
- 5+ years of experience using RF test equipment including but not limited to Modems, Emulators, Spectrum Analyzers, Network Analyzers, Logic Analyzers, Signal Generators, O-Scopes, and Power Sensors
- Active Secret security clearance to start or have the ability obtain a TS/SCI clearance
Preferred Additional Skills:
- Experience with military or space qualified hardware designs
- Experience with hardware and software requirements testability, definition, block diagrams, interconnect diagrams, and software & hardware integration
- Experience with modems, frequency converters, high power amplifiers, low noise amplifiers, power supplies/modules
- Experience of LabVIEW and/or TestStand
- Experience working with a multi-discipline technical teams (mechanical, structural, thermal, power, RF, electrical, systems) through all phases of program (concept, proposals, SRR, PDR/CDR, I&T, final sell-off)
- Experience with COSMOS, InControl, or other Satellite/ Telemetry Tracking & Control (TT&C) Scripting languages
- Experience with automation and scripting languages (e.g. Java, Python, Perl, Visual Studio code)
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in a technical information environment
- Experience executing government or commercial, firm-fixed price development programs
- Experience in mentoring and growing technical staff
- Team-player, able to work in a large program and fast-paced environment

In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role is $119,500 - $222,500. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
