Job Description:

This is a position suppporting the Telemtry and RF sector of L3Harris Space and Airborne Systems. For the past 60+ years, Telemetry and RF Products has been an industry-leading provider of highly reliable and secure RF communication products for Space and Airborne missions. 

Lead team of test engineers in the development of STEs (Specialized Test Equipment) for ambient and environment test campaigns. Candidate should have familiarity with the concepts of design for test of discrete and RF signal chains. Familiarity with space based electronic test requirements is required. Will lead a team that is responsible for the development of STE requirements, definition of factory test architecture and test flow of mission deliverable hardware. Candidate will understand program integrated master scheduling and organize team efforts to meet cost and schedule constraints of the program. Candidate will also work with agile development cycles to provide direction to scrum masters on the execution of sprints to align with program objectives.

Essential Functions:

  • Lead team of STE design engineers to develop STE solutions that meet the time and budget constraints of the programs they support
  • Work collaboratively with cross site STE design leaders to develop improvements to STE design process
  • Develop the talent base of the local team to meet the high paced production needs of the business
  • Develop system level STE requirements from mission deliverable systems specifications
  • Material selection knowledge for STE to meet the requirements of space and airborne based applications
  • thermal extreme test automation requirements
  • thermal vacuum test automation systems
  • RF based systems and the verification process
  • Drive DfT into mission deliverable design team to allow greater testability

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors of Science in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering  degree and a minimum of 9 years of relevant industry experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 7 years of relavant experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 13 years of prior related experience.
  • This position requires the ability to obtain a Secret Security Clearance
  • 5+ years of prior or current leadership experience managing a team of direct reports
  • 7+ years National Instruments LabView development
  • 5+ years hardward testing experience with electronic parts and systems in analog, digital, and RF environments
  • Experience working with detailed schematics, firmware and software design
  • Experience with lab and test measurement tools including Oscilliscopes, Signal Generators, Network Analyzers, Spectrum Analyzers, and Power Sensors

Preferred Additional Skills:

  • RF Fundamentals and communication theory
  • IPC/WHMA-A-620 build standard certification/experience
  • Skilled at presenting to team
  • Ability to develop training curriculum to drive team best practices
  • Gain cooperation with regards to process improvement initiatives
  • Develop and review electrical engineering documentation to ensure compliance to higher level specifications
  • Communicates within and outside of own function, business area, and parties external to the organization (e.g., customers, vendors, etc.)
  • Space electronics design experience

In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role is $125,000.00 -$232,000.00. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
