L3Harris’ Communication Systems segment is currently seeking a Systems Engineer, to support our Next Generation Jammer program. This position will be based at our Salt Lake City, UT facility.
Position Overview:
The Systems Engineer will be responsible for lab management and associated support activities for in-house integration and test activities associated with the Next Generation Jammer program. This includes management of program workspaces (office, assembly, test, and storage areas), lab setup, test equipment procurement, test material procurement and construction, calibration tracking and management, resource scheduling, and related duties. Support will be ongoing during the operational life cycle of the system, from initial integration and test activities through low- and full-rate production.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Lead the setup and reconfiguration of labs and test equipment in alignment with evolving integration and test needs.
- Oversee teams to connect, configure, and establish test configurations following detailed test plans and procedures.
- Manage procurement and tracking of test equipment through various channels (purchase, rental, lease) to support test activities, ensuring timely availability and compliance with project requirements.
- Oversee procurement, issuance, security, and production of test materials and custom test articles (e.g., cables) to support test activities.
- Coordinate and schedule the use of lab resources (e.g., space, test equipment) to optimize the execution of multiple simultaneous test activities.
- Serve as a subject matter expert and provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and technical staff.
- Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a secret security clearance
Qualifications:
- An ABET (EAC/CAC) accredited Bachelor's of Science degree in an engineering discipline, and 4 or more years of relevant experience in systems engineering.
Preferred Additional Skills:
- Proven expertise in managing and utilizing electronics test equipment and test support equipment including power supplies and chillers.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to meet critical deadlines and deliver high-quality results under pressure.
- Demonstrated experience coordinating complex projects and managing roles of technical support personnel.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
