Job Description:

L3Harris is seeking a dynamic and experienced HR Business Partner (HRBP) to serve as the dedicated HR professional supporting L3Harris’ Space & Mission Systems (SMS) Salt Lake City site. This role goes beyond traditional HR support – the HRBP will operate with a high degree of autonomy as the primary HR presence onsite, serving as a trusted advisor to employees and leaders while also contributing to critical enterprise-wide HR projects and transformation initiatives. The ideal candidate brings both the operational expertise to manage day-to-day HR needs and the strategic mindset to drive meaningful organizational change.

Essential Functions:

  • Serve as the dedicated onsite HR professional the Salt Lake City location, acting as the primary point of contact and trusted advisor for all HR-related matters across all levels of the organization, from individual contributors to senior leadership
  • Operate with a high degree of autonomy and independent judgment, proactively identifying HR needs, recommending solutions, and executing with minimal direction while maintaining alignment with broader HR strategies and COE guidance
  • Align HR strategies with SMS business objectives, ensuring the consistent and unbiased application of various annual HR processes, initiatives, and programs
  • Build and maintain strong, credible relationships with site leaders and employees, demonstrating a visible and accessible HR presence that fosters trust, engagement, and a positive site culture
  • Manage and resolve complex employee relations issues, conducting thorough and objective investigations and recommending appropriate courses of action
  • Act as a consultant to site management and leadership on HR-related issues, providing proactive guidance, recommendations, and solutions that balance business needs with employee advocacy
  • Contribute to and at times lead strategic HR projects and transformation initiatives, including organizational design, workforce restructuring, culture change, process improvement, and HR technology implementations, in partnership with HR leadership and Centers of Excellence (COEs)
  • Drive strategic workforce planning, talent development, and retention strategies by partnering with business leaders and COEs to ensure the organization has the necessary skills and competencies to meet current and future needs
  • Support and champion the performance management process at the site level, driving a high-performance culture and facilitating meaningful employee development conversations and outcomes
  • Partner to implement and influence organizational change initiatives at the site and enterprise level, helping to manage transitions, mitigate risk, and facilitate effective two-way communication across stakeholder groups
  • Formulate and leverage HR metrics and analytics to inform decision making, identify trends, and measure the effectiveness of HR initiatives at both the site and program level
  • Collaborate with COEs to develop, facilitate, and implement the timely, accurate, and appropriate delivery of solutions, programs, and policies that support the strategic goals of the company, connect business value with talent, and promote a diverse, inclusive environment that maximizes the success of our people
  • Demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills when interacting with diverse stakeholder groups, including employees, management and leadership, HR functional teams, and Centers of Excellence
  • Travel approximately 10–15%

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 6 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 4 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 10 years of prior related experience.
  • Experience supporting cross-functional teams.
  • Demonstrated experience operating independently as an HR professional with accountability for a defined client group, site, or business unit.

Preferred Additional Skills:

  • Experience working as an HR Business Partner with increasing scope and responsibility, supporting various levels within the organization, preferably within a matrix and government contracting environment
  • Experience working autonomously as the sole or primary HR presence for a site or client group, with the ability to self-direct and prioritize effectively
  • Proven experience contributing to or supporting complex, cross-functional HR projects and transformation initiatives
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, influencing, coaching, and consulting skills with the ability to engage and align stakeholders at all levels
  • Strong project management experience, including the ability to manage multiple priorities and initiatives simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
  • Demonstrated ability to balance strategic thinking with hands-on execution, addressing both long-term organizational goals and immediate site needs
  • Possesses a high degree of professional integrity and confidentiality with an eye for attention to detail
  • Knowledge of HR systems such as PeopleSoft, Oracle, and SuccessFactors
