Job Description:
This role is responsible for coordinating, supporting, and execution of Environmental Health and Safety programs for Salt Lake City and Carlsbad locations. Applicants will need to actively collaborate and participate to provide technical support, coordinate safety activities and processes across the business to ensure workplace safety, regulatory compliance, and maintenance of an effective Health Safety Management System.
Essential Functions:
- Reviewing current and proposed regulations and company requirements for applicability; recommend appropriate program measures to ensure compliance. Develop proactive strategies to prepare for upcoming changes and drive actions to ensure compliance with regulatory (federal, state, county, local) and corporate requirements.
 - Responsible for supporting and facilitating the implementation of an effective EHS management system. Supporting the EHS weekly audit process, annual site assessment, and corporate compliance audits.
 - Coordinating, or supporting critical EHS projects and/or programs including but not limited to: Ergonomics; Hazard Communication; Employee Exposures; Laser and Radiation Safety; Hearing Conservation; Hazardous Waste Management.
 - Managing high risk safety programs including but not limited to: Electrical Safety; Field Service Representative (FSR) Program Safety; Contractor Management; Confined Space, Tower Climbing/Working at Heights, Lockout Tagout.
 - Coordinating and conducting of Job Hazard Analysis, Machine Guarding Assessments & PPE Assessments to deploy corrective measures to continuously reduce site hazard risk profile.
 - Conducting in-person training and providing guidance to site personnel, leadership, and contractors to ensure compliance with regulatory and company training requirements.
 - Leading incident investigations, determining root causes, developing corrective actions, preparing EHS alerts, and conducting closure verification activities.
 - Supporting monthly site Safety Walks for the Operations, Leadership and Supervisor Teams with data entry.
 - Supporting Salt Lake City, Utah and Carlsbad, California locations will require 2-4 travel trips per year.
 
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree with 4 years prior EHS experience, 2 year post-secondary/AA Degree and 8 years prior experience or Graduate Degree with 2 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 8 years of prior related experience.
 
Preferred Additional Skills:
- Proven experience in EHS management systems or maintenance with supervisory experience.
 - Strong knowledge of Emergency Response protocols and ability to handle emergency or time-sensitive situations.
 - Excellent leadership and team management skills.
 - Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
 - Walking to conduct audits and Safety Walks weekly throughout the site.
 - Able to facilitate EHS team functions.
 - Industrial Hygiene experience
 - Frequently corresponding with other employees about audits, compliance actions, and EHS requirements. Applicants must be able to communicate accurate information.
 - Knowledge of Environmental and Sustainability programs.
 - Experience leading agency inspectors during site visits.
