Job Description:
The Director, Global Networks will lead growth, capture, and programmatic activities within the Assured Mission Networks division with a focus on integrated communication systems. This includes directing a team of program managers and leading customer interactions, partnering effectively across functions, capture strategy development, business case development, investment planning, capture gating process, pipeline growth, business account management and CRM management. Candidates should have a thorough understanding of the US DoD requirements, budget and acquisition processes, and be well versed in engaging with DoD subject matter experts in all areas of the acquisition process.
Essential Functions:
- Lead the development and execution of the Global Networks’ growth strategy.
- Partner with business development on capture plans to shape and win new business pursuits aligned with a multi-year strategic plan.
- Develop, refine, and update business cases to capture new business.
- Manage budgets for business initiatives.
- Provide warfighter perspective and input to engineering and technical experts.
- Develop and maintain relationships with key partners, customers, decision-makers, and acquisition officials.
- Lead customer interactions and ensure customer expectations are met.
- Mentor program managers and develop team members within the portfolio.
- Foster a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.
- Manage the gating process, including engagement with executive leadership.
- Evaluate new technologies and industry trends from an SME and warfighter perspective.
- Ability to travel up to 50%.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree with a minimum of 15 years of prior related experience; Or, Graduate Degree with a minimum of 13 years of prior related experience; Or, in lieu of a degree, a minimum of 19 years of prior related experience
- Position requires an active DoD Top Security Clearance; Ability to obtain Special Access Clearances (SAP)
- Prior leadership and mentoring experience
- Knowledge of space and satellite communications technology
- A strong technical and business background in relation to end to end space missions including spacecraft bus, payload, and ground operations
- Understanding of the Department of Defense, Air Force, Space Force, and Intelligence Community
Preferred Additional Qualifications:
- Active Top Secret/SCI
- 10+ years of experience in DoD contractor industry
- Existing customer relationships
- Previous experience with responsibility for a P/L
- Comfortable and skilled interacting with senior USG officials and L3H executives
- Prior experience in leading a capture team, shaping and capturing new business in the defense aerospace industry.
- Understanding of satellite and ground communications systems that can be applied to the development of future satellites and space programs
- Ability to generate and deliver articulate and persuasive briefings
- Aptitude to clearly communicate with both technical and non-technical audiences
- Excellent people skills, with experience leading and collaborating in a multi-disciplinary, diverse, and dynamic team environment.
- Outstanding work ethic and commitment to organizational success
- Excellent communication skills (written, verbal, & presentation)
