Job Description:  

The Lead, Systems Engineer will perform as part of a team that supports the requirements, design, development, test, and integration of complex, specialized hardware/software systems installed on ground and airborne ISR and communication platforms.  Strong avionics experience expected.

Essential Duties:

• Design, integrate, and test, wideband and narrowband communication and datalink paths.
• Design, test and troubleshoot RF path from equipment onboard aircraft to equipment to distant end.
• Estimating RF hardware design tasks, identifying risks, and planning development. 
• Working with vendors to design new and unique antennas based on aircraft space and specific equipment requirements.
• Evaluate alternative solutions and establish preliminary system design. 
• Review and evaluate electrical wiring diagrams to ensure design details trace to system requirements.
• Prepare effective presentations to communicate technical network information to non-technical professionals.
• Experience with FMS systems, autopilot systems, radar altimeter, IFF transponders, TCAS and NAV radios and aircraft intercommunication systems.
• Design in the 30MHz – 6GHz range.
• Excellent written, oral, and presentation communication skills. 
• Working with subcontractors and US Government customers. 
• Work independently and in a team environment. 
• Hands-on experience with testing, integrating, and verifying hardware and/or software.
• Experience developing, authoring, and implementing system test plans in a team environment.
• Able to travel up to 20%.

Qualifications  

• Bachelor’s degree with nine (9) years of systems avionics experience.
• Graduate degree with seven (7) years of systems avionics experience.
• In lieu of a degree with a minimum of 13 years of systems avionics experience.
• Active Top Secret DoD Clearance with eligibility to obtain SCI.
• Must be a US Citizen.
