Job Description:
We are looking for a systems engineer to support the growth of the Mission Systems and Accessories product line management team. This position will be fast past and gives the ability to work to integrate new technologies into our portfolios both within L3Harris and with third party technology providers. The position is ideal for a candidate that wants to work across all L3Harris product lines as well as all parts of the overall organization.
Essential Functions:
- Responsible for providing technical product support the Accessories and Mission Systems product families.
- Work closely with the product line managers to investigate and shape customer requirements for product and system applications.
- Work with engineering, sales, and systems on product specifications/responses to Request for Information(RFI)/Request for Proposal(RFP).
- Maintain integrity/consistency of product documentation including product specs, data sheets, manuals, and brochures.
- May manage projects or processes with general supervision.
- Communicates with contacts inside and outside of own department to explain and interpret technical product information, operational processes, practices, and procedures. Support product life cycle processes, practices and procedures.
- Recommends enhancements to both current and future products, systems, and processes.
- Works to achieve operational targets for specific programs and projects with moderate impact on departmental results.
- Creates application notes to facilitate proper fielding and applications of equipment.
- Supports trade shows, fieldtrials and demonstrations as needed.
- Support International requests from Sales and Programs as needed.
- Travel: 25% or more, including international travel
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience. Graduate Degree or equivalent with 0 to 2 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 6 years of prior related experience in Systems Engineering.
Preferred Additional Skills:
- Experienced professional with prior knowledge of tactical radios systems and products.
- Experience with generating validation test plans.
- Experience with sales, front-end of the business, Face-to-Face customer interactions.
- Familiarity with tactical communication networks - radios, waveforms and applications, wireless networking, IP network management and routing
- Training and presentation experience with internal and external customers.
- This position may require the ability to obtain a security clearance
- Prior tactical radio operation and planning experience
- Ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced, high-stakes environment
In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role in New York State is $69,000 - $128,000. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
