Job Schedule: 9/80  Employees work 9 out of every 14 days – totaling 80 hours worked – and have every other Friday off

Job Description:

We are seeking a skilled engineering manager with a strong background in materials and processes engineering to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience working with the aerospace industry and will bring an expertise across different material subject matters. They will provide technical leadership and mentorship to the onsite team, and administrate and manage a materials engineering lab. The role will report up within the materials engineering group and be based in Redmond, WA

Essential Functions:

  • Technical leadership across materials and processes applicable to the product lines produced at the Redmond site
  • Leadership and mentorship for the materials engineering team at the site
  • Administration of the on-site laboratory which has capabilities ranging from standard metallography to more in-depth chemistry work
  • Coordination with the broader materials engineering team to ensure successful execution of programmatic needs including materials and processes specification write-ups, knowledge capture, and materials characterization

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 9 years prior related engineering experience. Graduate Degree with a minimum of 7 years of prior related engineering experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 13 years of prior related engineering experience. 

Preferred Additional Skills:

  • Broad materials engineering skills that include knowledge of both metallic and non-metallic systems
  • Familiarity with aerospace materials and processes standards and specifications
  • Manufacturing expertise to support integration of product definition with producibility needs of the company
  • Customer-facing experience with presentations and reviews

In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role in Washington is $122,000 - $227,000. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location. L3Harris also offers a variety of benefits, including health and disability insurance, 401(k) match, flexible spending accounts, EAP, education assistance, parental leave, paid time off, and company-paid holidays. The specific programs and options available to an employee may vary depending on date of hire, schedule type, and the applicability of collective bargaining agreements.
