Job Description:

This role develops and oversees security programs for classified, sensitive, and proprietary information, materials, and equipment. Responsibilities include researching and applying federal security regulations, while maintaining awareness of cross-functional compliance areas such as finance, cybersecurity, IT, and trade controls. The role obtains rulings and interpretations from government agencies, prepares security manuals, and establishes procedures for proper handling, storage, and access to restricted information and facilities.

The position also leads security education and training initiatives, conducts security audits, and investigates potential violations, recommending corrective actions as needed. Additional duties include collecting and analyzing intelligence information and providing relevant findings to key stakeholders or investigative authorities.

This is an intermediate-level role requiring practical knowledge of the security field. The individual works under moderate supervision, sets goals for their own work, and communicates with internal and external partners to explain and enforce security practices. They monitor changes impacting their area of responsibility and contribute to operational goals that support departmental success.

The Advanced Systems & Technologies (AS&T) division, part of L3Harris’ Agile Development Group, specializes in developing next-generation capabilities, including advanced Unmanned Air Systems (UAS/UAV), cutting-edge radar technologies, next-gen weapon systems, and RF sensing solutions. Essential Functions:

  • Maintain security program policies to ensure ongoing compliance with 32 CFR, Part 117, IC, DoDM 5205.07 vol 1-4, and other requirements of all classified programs under purview.
  • Prepare Security Operating Procedures (SOPs) outlining customer guidelines and establishing procedures for the handling, storage, and transportation of assigned assets.
  • Conduct security related employee briefings to include indoctrination, debriefing, courier, closed area, program access, OPSEC, Insider Threat, derivative classification, foreign travel, and routine annual security trainings.
  • Prepare and maintain System Fixed Facility Checklists (FFCs) in accordance with ICD 705.
  • Implement DD-254 Security Guidance and ensure program compliance with contractual requirements.
  • Analyze and investigate security incidents and violations; prepare internal and external customer reports.
  • Conduct annual self-inspections.
  • Physical security duties include, but are not limited to, maintaining and changing combinations, access control systems, alarm accesses, secure area modifications and buildouts
  • Maintain multiple PERSEC databases including JADE, DISS and SIMS.
  • Process PARS in accordance with SAPNP guidance.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience. Graduate Degree or equivalent with 0 to 2 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 6 years of prior related experience.
  • Ability to obtain/maintain a SECRET security clearance.

Preferred Additional Skills:

  • Knowledge of Joint Access Database Environment (JADE).
  • Knowledge of Defense Information System for Security (DISS).
  • Knowledge and Implementation of the DoDM 5205.07.
  • Knowledge and Implementation of the ICD 705.
  • Knowledge of the EQUIP Process and Justification Requests.
  • Knowledge of Security Information Management System (SIMS).
  • Knowledge of Access Control Systems.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Access. 
  • Must communicate effectively and in a professional manner.
  • Must interact with persons of varying importance, multi-cultural customers and personnel.
  • Must be able to work under stressful conditions.
  • Experience with Personnel Security preferred.
  • Active SECRET security clearance preferred.
