Job Description:
Sr. Engineering Manager driven by commitment to excellence through growing talent and capabilities in a fast paced leading edge environment. Looking for someone ready to lead a diverse team as they serve our Spectral Solutions Division programs through full life cycle planning and execution. The Systems Engineering Integration and Test department is responsible for architecting test and verification plans that meet the needs of our customers internally and externally to ensure L3Harris continues to rapidly deliver quality mission ready capabilities to end users.
The candidate will be familiar with system integration and test methodologies and frame-works across a broad range of engineering tasks, from proposals to system design to hardware development, integration, test and delivery. The candidate will be part of a larger organization dedicated to meeting customer’s technical, cost and schedule needs.
Essential Functions:
- Familiarity with system integration and test engineering standards, principles, theories, concepts and techniques to complex payloads and space vehicles.
- Capability to recommend and implement new products, processes, policies, standards or operating plans in support of job function strategy.
- Ability to manage budget or Profit & Loss (P&L) accountability for the department.
- Experience with knowledge transfer, department staff planning, and talent development.
- Recommends operational plans and tactics that will directly impact the achievement of overall functional results working with leads across program in their portfolio.
- Participates in design peer reviews, plans top level I&T flow with a perspective on efficient use of assets and facilities.
- Provides technical support to detailed test plans and guides team on I&T processes and procedures appropriate to the complexity of the program.
- Ability to obtain and maintain security clearance Secret or Top Secret or TS/SCI, which requires U.S. Citizenship.
- Demonstrated ability to deliver and sustain measurable results.
- Self-starter; problem solver; customer focused.
- Ability to clearly and succinctly convey information and ideas, including strong communication and presentation skills.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree and a minimum of 12 years of prior systems experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 10 years of prior systems experience. In lieu of degree, 16 years of engineering experience.
- Systems, Mechanical, Electrical, Optical or thermal engineering background.
- Broad management and leadership knowledge to lead cross-department project teams or manage across the function.
Preferred Additional Skills:
- Secret or Top Secret Clearance.
- Technical leadership with System I&T experience.
- Experience in at least one of the following areas: integration of hardware & software systems, system level TVAC testing, system level dynamic testing, EMI testing, electrical system end-end test, space vehicle level integration & test.
- Ability to work closely with Customers, Business Development, and all functional disciplines.
- Has proven track record with long term planning and attention to detail.
- Understanding of I&T development processes and life cycle.
- Team player able to work in a large program environment.
- Fast learner able to adjust to project needs and learn new skills quickly.
- Lead functional teams larger than 50 people.
