Job Description:
This is an opportunity to take on complex technical challenges, expand your systems engineering experience, and contribute to next-generation avionics products that support U.S. and allied warfighters. You will join a collaborative team of highly skilled engineers with deep technical expertise who work together to solve difficult problems and deliver mission-critical capabilities. As our avionics business continues to grow, you will help build on a strong legacy of innovation, technical excellence, and trusted customer performance.
In this role, you will apply your engineering background in a systems engineering capacity across the product lifecycle, supporting activities such as requirements development, system integration, verification and validation, technical problem solving, and risk reduction. You will work closely with hardware, software, test, and program teams to help translate customer needs into effective, reliable, and supportable avionics solutions. This position offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on critical engineering efforts while continuing to grow your technical breadth, program understanding, and systems engineering leadership.
Essential Functions:
- Execute systems engineering tasks independently in support of assigned programs.
- Develop, analyze, allocate, and manage system and subsystem requirements.
- Derive detailed requirements from customer, system, and design inputs.
- Create and maintain requirements traceability and verification matrices.
- Use DOORS or an equivalent tool to manage requirements baselines and changes.
- Support integration of custom electronic subsystems with electrical, mechanical, and embedded software/firmware teams.
- Support verification and validation planning and requirements compliance activities.
- Contribute to technical planning, design reviews, and cross-functional problem solving.
- Support proposal and program execution activities as needed.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Secret security clearance.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 6 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 4 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 10 years of prior related experience.
Preferred Additional Skills:
- Master’s degree in systems, electrical, or similar engineering discipline.
- 3 years of experience in electrical, mechanical, or embedded firmware/software detailed design of custom electronic subsystems.
- Experience with requirements management.
- Experience deriving requirements.
- Experience creating requirements test verification matrices.
- Experience with DOORS or an equivalent requirements management tool.
- Experience developing technical or cost proposals in a defense contracting environment.
- Experience with earned value management systems.
- Experience developing and maintaining an integrated master schedule.
- Experience with multi-level security or information assurance requirements.
- Expertise in Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) and open systems design.
