Job Description:
L3Harris is seeking a highly skilled Level 4 Systems Engineer to join our dynamic team. Essential Functions:
- Generate and manage system and subsystem-level requirements specifications using requirements management tools such as DOORS, ensuring accuracy and completeness throughout the lifecycle
- Conduct comprehensive requirement traceability analysis to ensure all stakeholder needs are fully addressed and covered by the system requirements.
- Document the development of system capabilities and ensure comprehensive architectural representation aligned with requirements
- Create and maintain verification matrices; actively support system verification and validation activities including test planning and execution
- Lead and manage technical teams in a collaborative environment to successfully meet project objectives
- Define and manage interfaces between system elements, using Interface Control Documents (ICDs) and other means to ensure compatibility and interoperability.
- Leverage interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills to foster cross-functional teamwork and resolve technical challenges effectively
- Lead efforts to innovate and improve existing system designs. Resolve complex technical issues that arise during the design, development, or deployment phases.
- Perform detailed trade studies and system analysis to evaluate design options, balance requirements, and make informed decisions.
- Engage with customers, suppliers, and other external stakeholders to gather requirements, provide updates, and address concerns.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree (Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Computer Science, or related technical discipline) and minimum 6 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 4 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 10 years of prior related experience.
Preferred Additional Skills:
- Experience contributing to and/or leading design reviews (e.g., SRR, PDR, CDR, TRR).
- RF and SATCOM Experience
- Demonstrated experience in network engineering, including the design, implementation, and troubleshooting of complex network architectures
- Proven experience in systems engineering principles and practices
- Use modeling tools and methods (e.g., SysML, UML) to create clear and detailed system architecture diagrams.
- Risk Management Experience
