Job Description:
The Senior Specialist, Category Management will be responsible for supporting and leading projects, strategic initiatives, and continuous improvement events for a $7B segment comprised of 30 manufacturing facilities. This role will be relied on to lead special projects across several sites and will help support project creation, project management, and project closure for the IMS segment category management councils. This role will be expected to lead projects independently and in collaboration with other functions/departments, to include managing across a matrixed workforce and potentially working with other segments to ensure alignment.
The Senior Specialist, Category Management will report into the IMS Sr. Manager of Category Management
Roles and Responsibilities
- Support data analytics, maintain tools and templates, assist with material forecasting updates and track KPIs/metrics
- Manage data collection across the sectors and standardize data submissions to CHQ
- Assist in consolidating market data into market intelligence reports to better inform category strategies in alignment with CHQ and sector category managers
- Leverage data analytics to identify supply chain optimization opportunities
- Assist in the development, publication, and execution of segment wide tools, resources, and standard work documents
- Own the tools and resources (Excel and PowerBI based) used for effective category management
- Support Supplier Business Reviews to include data collection and consolidation across the segment
Required Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Supply Chain, Business, IT, Operations Management or related areas or 6+ years of related experience
- Demonstrated project leadership experience in supply chain, program management or related areas
- Full proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (PowerPoint, Excel, Word) with a specific focus on distilling down complex data and using think-cell to create executive presentations
- Must be a US Citizen (no dual citizenship)
Preferred Qualifications
- Strong communication and collaboration skills with the ability to present and discuss strategy and analysis
- Expert in finding, analyzing, and synthesizing data to help drive improvement
- Experience in supply planning, category management, procurement or data management highly desired
- Experience in Aerospace & Defense (A&D) industry preferred with specific FAR/DFAR experience
- Ability to work in an agile, fast paced environment and prioritize competing work assignments and initiative to complete tasks
