Job Description:
The L3Harris Spectral Solutions engineering team is seeking an Information Security Systems Engineer to join our team onsite, providing critical support for our aerospace programs. This role applies current systems security engineering methods, practices and technologies to the architecture, design, development, evaluation and integration of systems and networks to maintain system security. The ISSE is responsible for integration of multiple methods into a cohesive system security perimeter and environment while implementing the policies and procedures necessary to monitor and maintain such an environment. This role prepares Certification and Accreditation documentation, using multiple industry standards such as NIST 800-37, to achieve security authorization of classified cloud, on-premises, and space systems.
Essential Functions:
- Manage the cybersecurity postures of space vehicles and cloud-based ground systems
- Execute the NIST Risk Management Framework (RMF) process to attain Authorizations to Operate for classified ground and space national security systems
- Develop and document security architectures for space vehicles and ground systems
- Detect, analyze, document, and mitigate cybersecurity risks, threats, and vulnerabilities for space vehicles and ground systems
- Present cybersecurity analyses, status, and plans to internal and external customers
- Assist in the planning of ISSE activities and the management of their execution
- Create, review, and revise technical documents
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 9 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 7 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 13 years of prior related experience.
- An active secret security clearance
- Cybersecurity certification satisfying IA SAE Level II (e.g., CASP CE, CISSP or Associate, CSSLP).
- Experience in attaining Authorizations to Operate (ATO) for National Security Systems.
Preferred Additional Skills:
- Existing TS/SCI security clearance
- Experience in system engineering and system development
- Existing cybersecurity certification satisfying IA SAE Level III (e.g., CISSP-ISSEP, CISSP-ISSAP)
- CCSP (Cloud Security) certification.
- Experience with network technologies (LAN & WAN).
- Experience designing, implementing and operating security controls for cloud-hosted applications or infrastructure.
- Experience writing technical documentation
- Experience and understanding of bid and proposal generation for government contracts to meet the customer security requirements.
- Experience with compliance scanning tools and vulnerability scanning tools.
- Leadership skills to lead a team of Information Security Systems Engineers
