Job Title: Business Development Intern Spring 2026 – Palm Bay, FL
Job Location: Palm Bay, FL
Job Description:
- Perform tasks within the L3Harris Common Capture Process (CCP) including strategic research, market analysis, customer analysis, competitive intelligence and win strategy development.
- Position reports directly to the Director of Capture Excellence, Integrated Missions Systems (IMS) Business Development.
- Collection and analysis of Capture Pipeline health
- Support IMS BD Capture Center of Excellence leadership with internal and external engagement events and presentations
- Research and reporting of timely, accurate and actionable insights on strategic market and budgetary trends, the global security threat environment, as well as competitors’ position in these markets to support IMS’ Top Priority Pursuits;
- Analyze U.S. and international government budgets, commercial customer buying trends, shifts in the DoD acquisition environment, and current and emerging military threats;
- Help with development of core proposal and proposal art libraries to bolster Capture Center of Excellence
- Assist in the analyses of IMS’ market share and positioning for strategic pursuits
- Support Segment reporting and reviews (e.g., Weekly Capture Reviews, Monthly Pipeline Reviews, Quarterly Functional Reviews, Annual Strategy Growth Plan, etc.);
- Development and reporting on Opportunity pipeline: Track, review, and assess pipeline opportunities to ensure the CCP is implemented and appropriate progress is maintained for each opportunity
- Collect and analyze strategic and tactical competitive intelligence from open source data. Participate in data extraction engagements with Subject Matter Experts
- Work closely with Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) to provide orders reports and track against AOP plans
- Complete ad-hoc projects and reporting as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in in International Relations, Political Science, Engineering, Data Analytics or other related fields.
Preferred Skills:
- Career aspirations and interest in the Aerospace and Defense industry, management consulting, business development, or strategic planning.
- Strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills (written and presentation) and good attention to detail
- Team oriented with the ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Skills in gathering data from multiple, often disparate, qualitative and quantitative sources and synthesizing it into meaningful reports and presentations
- Working knowledge of and/or desire to learn about the U.S. defense, aerospace, intelligence, and adjacent markets
- Working knowledge of and/or desire to learn about the U.S. Government budgeting and Department of Defense (DoD) acquisition processes
- Skill and familiarity with the Microsoft Office Suite, to include PowerPoint and Excel functions
- Balanced mind with interest and ability in gathering data from multiple, often disparate, qualitative and quantitative sources and synthesizing it into meaningful reports and presentations
- Creative problem-solving skills
- Organization and prioritization skills
- Desire to and comfortable working in a high volume, fast-paced, rapidly changing, results-oriented work environment
- Ability to search and extract information from large databases and ability to analyze conflicting and incomplete data to reach analytically based conclusions
