Job Description:

The Missile Solutions Segment / Propulsion Systems Sector of L3Harris is currently seeking an experienced Lead, Program Manager. This role can be located at our Huntsville, AL (headquarters) or Orange, VA facility. This position will specifically be working as the Program Manager for the Trident II D5 Modernization program and leading integration activities between the Trident II D5 Life Extension and D5 Life Extension 2 programs.

Essential Functions:

  • Lead the planning, execution, monitoring, and closeout of assigned programs.
  • Define program scope, objectives, deliverables, milestones, and success criteria in partnership with stakeholders.
  • Develop and maintain integrated program plans, schedules, budgets, and resource forecasts.
  • Manage program financials, including forecasting, cost control, variance analysis, and reporting.
  • Identify, assess, and mitigate program risks, issues, and dependencies.
  • Coordinate cross-functional teams to ensure timely execution of program activities and deliverables.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for internal and external stakeholders regarding program status, risks, and performance.
  • Prepare and present regular program reviews, status reports, and executive briefings.
  • Ensure compliance with contractual requirements, company policies, quality standards, and applicable regulations.
  • Drive change management activities and resolve program challenges to maintain progress and performance.
  • Monitor supplier, subcontractor, or partner performance, as applicable.
  • Support proposal development, program startup, and transition to operations or sustainment, as needed.
  • Foster a collaborative, accountable, and results-oriented team environment.
  • Establish governance structures and communication plans for programs.
  • Track key performance indicators and take corrective action when needed.
  • Manage customer expectations and maintain strong working relationships.
  • Ensure configuration, documentation, and reporting requirements are met.
  • Lead lessons learned sessions and implement improvement actions.
  • Continuously improve program management processes, tools, and best practices.
  • Up to 25% business travel to other L3Harris and customer sites.
  • Ability to obtain U.S. Secret Security Clearance.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, project management, or related field with a minimum of 9 years of relevant program management experience; or a Graduate Degree with a minimum of 7 years of related program management experience; or 13 years of prior related program management experience in lieu of a degree.
  • 7 years of experience managing budgets, schedules, risks, and cross-functional teams.
  • 5 years of leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
  • 7 years of experience with program management tools and Microsoft Office applications.

Preferred Additional Skills:

  • PMP, PgMP, or similar certification.
  • Experience in a regulated industry, government contracting, manufacturing, aerospace, defense, or technology environment.
  • Experience with earned value management, forecasting, or contract management.
  • Demonstrated success leading complex, multi-functional programs.
  • Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong financial and analytical acumen.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to influence stakeholders and lead through collaboration.
  • Strong decision-making and conflict resolution abilities.

In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role in Virginia is $110,500 – $205,500. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location. L3Harris also offers a variety of benefits, including health and disability insurance, 401(k) match, flexible spending accounts, EAP, education assistance, parental leave, paid time off, and company-paid holidays. The specific programs and options available to an employee may vary depending on date of hire, schedule type, and the applicability of collective bargaining agreements.
