Job Description:

The Government Property Inventory Support role is a highly developed individual contributor. Working autonomously, this person may act as a mentor to lower level peers and provides guidance on the management of govenrment property and materials. Makes recommendations for process improvements. Works on assignments requiring applied judgement and initiative. Communicates with contacts typically within and outside the department on matters that involve obtaining or providing information that requires explanation or interpretation. Makes recommendations for solutions to challenges.  Provides input into new products/processes that have a measurable impact on business or functional results.

Essential Functions:

  • Property management activities to ensure accountability for Government Property in accordance with applicable FAR, DFARS, and other USG/customer contractual requirements and internal procedures.
  • Accurately maintain Government property records, regarding acquisition, receiving, identification, record keeping, movement, storage, inventories, consumption, utilization, maintenance, subcontractor control. 
  • Assist in preparing Government property inventory reports for audit or contractor review submittal.  Inaccuracy of these records could result in the loss of the privilege to store Government property at our facility.
  • Responsible for Process and control of all material storage and movement in and out of Government Furnished Stores. Assist in record keeping of all Government / Customer owned property for the Division. 
  • Interface with other departments as required ensuring control and coordinate for efficient material flow. 
  • Unpack material received and assure that it properly stored, and all relevant transactions are done on the MRP system to show the location of the material. Report any decrepancies of received assets/materials to the Government/customer as required
  • Selection and issue of material to the production floor according to production requirements and operation packet instructions. 
  • Operate equipment required to handle, protect and deliver government material in performance of duties. Operate forklift or transporter to receive, deliver, and pick up stock and parts or assemblies. Exercise driving and handling precautions beyond normal driving and handling.
  • Submit property administrative reports to customer stakeholders and regulatory agencies, e.g. Loss, Damage, Destruction (LDD), Inventory Results, etc.
  • Provides input into new processes, standards and/or operational plans that will have measurable impact on the achievement of overall function or business results.

Qualifications:

  • Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 8 years of prior relevant experience or 2 years post-Secondary/Associates Degree with a minimum of 4 years of prior related experience.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to obtain and maintain DoD Secret Clearance.
  • Working knowledge of managing Government Property on a DoD contract
  • Working knowledge of mateirals management to include inventory, utilization, and consumption
  • Working knowledge and compliance expereince with FAR and DFARS requirements
  • Ability to analyze information gathered to identify potential problems or discrepancies.
  • Must be detail-oriented, be able to multitask while maintining attention to detail

Preferred Additional Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in logistics, supply chain management, or business administration preferred
  • NPMA CPPA/CPPM certification preferred
  • Experience with PIEE, GFP Module, UID Registry
  • Experience with DCMA and DCAA audit process
  • Expereince with NAVSUP CAV reporting preferred
  • Knowledge of MRP/ERP and Advance Planning tools such as SAP 
  • Advanced knowledge of MS office suite of products  
  • Strong decision making and problem-solving skills. 
  • Excellent communication skills. 
  • Forklift Certification
  • Current DoD Secret Clearance

In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role is $51,000-95,000. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
