Compensation Range: Between $66,000 - $116,000 CDN annually
Essential Functions:
Reporting to the Methods Supervisor, the Methods Agent must define the methodology for manufacturing, assembling, modifying or overhauling an aircraft and its components. His main responsibility is to ensure the development and implementation of efficient work methods for production in an optimal work environment, while respecting quality standards, deadlines and costs. He/She is the link between the engineering, program, planning and production departments.
The methods agent is a technical specialist in the avionics field, he/she is distinguished by his/her knowledge of the manufacture, repair and installation of harnesses or aircraft components as well as avionics systems.
Essential functions:
- Write work instructions for the manufacture and repair of electrical harnesses as well as instructions for making modifications to the avionics systems of the aircraft;
- Participate in the elaboration of the harness assembly;
- Read and interpret technical drawings and specifications to define the optimal sequence of operations;
- Actively participate in the design phase with engineering to ensure the feasibility of deliverables and production efficiency;
- Develop and document a clear production strategy based on the engineering concept (sequence of assembly plan according to estimate and validated level of effort);
- Respond to production support requests (clarify, corrective and preventive measures) and participate in the resolution of technical problems in collaboration with other departments;
- Support the estimation and submission process (estimate according to monthly forecasts, validation of times on production cards);
- Create and maintain the parts list (manufacturing BOM);
- Participate in the development of project schedules;
- Develop or verify work instructions;
- Harmonize the implementation of engineering changes or production improvements by working closely with engineering, planning and production;
- Actively participate in the implementation of continuous improvement initiatives.
Qualifications:
- College diploma (DEC) or bachelor's degree (BAC) in aeronautics, aeronautical manufacturing, avionics or equivalent experience;
- Experience on the CF-18, an asset;
- Minimum of five (5) years of experience in a similar position or equivalent experience;
- Knowledge of SAP;
- Knowledge of Office suite software;
- Knowledge of 3D Via, MS Project, Catia V5/V6, Visio (assets);
- Bilingual both orally and in writing (intermediate level). The English language, in addition to the French language, is necessary due to contractual requirements
Eligibility Criteria:
- Must be eligible for registration with the Controlled Goods Program;
- Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a government of Canada Reliability status and Secret Level 2/NATO Secret security clearance;
- Must be eligible to meet the requirements for U.S. International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).
