Compensation Range: Between $90,000 - $140,000 CDN annually

Our current portfolio of programs includes a wide spectrum of In-Service-Support activities in support of Department of National Defence fleets. L3Harris MAS is looking to fill a Senior Project Manager position, as a key member of the Program Management team to successfully deliver a new maintenance and material management Program.

The Program team will work collaboratively with the customer as an Integrated Project Team (IPT) to achieve the outcome of the program.

Essential Functions:

Reporting to the Program Manager, you will be responsible for managing all phases of projects from inception to completion, driving execution to achieve key business and customer satisfaction objectives.

You will be responsible for the cost, schedule and technical performance of the projects including the participation in the negotiation of contract and contract changes, coordination of the preparation of proposals, business plans, performance Statement of Work (SOW) and specifications, operating budgets and financial terms/conditions of contract. You will also be acting as a key customer contact for projects’ activities, leading program review sessions with customer to discuss cost, schedule, and technical performance.

  • You will lead the integrated project team applying the five main processes of project management:
    1. initiate the project, including obtaining the necessary documentation from the client and holding the kick-off meeting;
    2. plan the project, including the development and the submission of a proposed project plan;
    3. execute the project, including the monitoring of progress and the communication of results to stakeholders;
    4. manage the project risks and changes, including the clarification steps with the client and the change proposal preparation;
    5. close the project, including post mortem preparations and lessons learned documentation;
  • Apply efficient communication practices to ensure the stakeholders are informed of the development of the project and that the team operates efficiently mostly as a remote team;
  • Effectively manage customer communications with regards to the project status, scope changes, costs and schedule;
  • Represent L3Harris MAS during the integrated team reviews with the customer;
  • Promote continuous improvement initiatives and implementation of project management best practices.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor degree in Business Administration or Engineering required;
  • Hold Project Management Professional (PMP) accreditation from the Project Management Institute (PMI) required or Hold a Master Degree in Project Management;
  • Minimum of 6 years of experience in project management (any equivalent combination of education and relevant experience may be considered);
  • Experience in the aerospace industry required;
  • Excellent communication skills in both French and English;
  • Pro-active, demonstrates enthusiasm, initiative and strong leadership;
  • Demonstrates planning, organizational, analytical, and decision making skills;
  • Respond positively to pressure.        
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with an ability to handle multiple tasks and effectively balance priorities;       
  • Ability to communicate project related and technical details clearly and concisely, both orally and in written form;       
  • Ability to effectively deal directly with internal and external customers; 
  • Autonomous, exercise good judgment, reliable.

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Must be eligible for registration with the Controlled Goods Program;
  • Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a government of Canada Reliability status and Secret Level 2/NATO Secret security clearance;
  • Must be eligible to meet the requirements for U.S. International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).
