About your next Challenge as a Pre-Flight Mechanic:
The Pre-flight Mechanic is responsible for performing mechanical work as well as other complex aircraft inspection and maintenance tasks (excluding tasks relating to the electrical circuit, radio, radar and systems and electronic equipment) in order to prepare the aircraft for flight or customer acceptance. aircraft maintenance (excluding electrical, radio, radar and electronic systems and equipment tasks) to prepare aircraft for flight or customer acceptance.
What will you do:
- Participate in the preparation of the aircraft for flight or customer acceptance: install and remove the safety pins of the landing gear and control surfaces, cover the intake ports and pipes, place the maintenance brackets and jacks and ground power brackets and units, filling and emptying fuel, oil, water, anti-icing fluid, hydraulic fluid tanks, charging oleo struts, checking and inflate the tires and lubricate the entire aircraft;
 - Check, adjust, repair or replace devices and equipment of a complex nature such as internal storage, seats and harnesses, accessories, upholstery, and repair sheet metal as needed;
 - Check and maintain flight systems such as hydraulic, pneumatic, heating and ventilation circuits, flight controls, landing gear and engines by connecting and using power test benches and devices;
 - Perform maintenance, purging, charging and checking of gas and liquid oxygen systems (after successful completion of company oxygen course).
 
Required Skills and Experiences:
- College diploma in pre-flight mechanics or military equivalent or Transport Canada equivalent;
 
- in aircraft structure assembly, aircraft structure repair and/or composite materials with experience in aeronautics and/or sheet metal work with experience in aeronautics;
 - CF-18 (an asset);
 - Bilingualism (an asset);
 - Has strong skills for teamwork;
 - Is dynamic and innovative and is stimulated by technical challenges;
 - Is organized, autonomous and has a developed analytical sense.
 
Eligibility Criteria (Mandatory):
- Must be eligible for registration with the Controlled Goods Program;
 - Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a government of Canada “Reliability” status and Level 2 (Secret) security clearance.
 - Must be eligible to meet the requirements for U.S. International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).
