Compensation Range: Between $88,500 - $138,500 CDN annually
As Lead, material management, you will be responsible for the definition and implementation of logistics strategies to ensure the maintenance of an optimal level of inventory for various programs.
You will implement key performance indicator in material management, act as business representative during the implementation of an inventory planning system and drive continuous improvement of the processes and procedure in order to meet and exceed the customer’s expectations.
A key factor of success to meet our customer’s needs is work closely with several functions within the company (program, engineering, procurement, methods, production and finance) in a multi-site context.
As Lead, you will support the material management specialists in their daily activities.
Essential Functions:
- Seek and analyze available data from various sources, including the history of inventory levels in order to:
- Repair Forecast by supplier by month, in quantity and value;
- Using statistical methods and considering the various inputs from different specialists, generate a detailed long term material forecast;
- Identify the need for materials, equipment, tools or other for the company;
- Calculate and maintain planning parameters for all parts under your custody (ex.: Min/Max);
- Rigorously monitor planning parameters in order to avoid shortage and ensure optimal stock turns;
- Identify, analyze and communicate the optimal method of material rotation;
- Identify, develop and implement the optimal material flow for an aircraft component from component reception to final destination in collaboration with the supply team;
- Develop and maintain performance indicators at the materiel management level;
- Communicate the medium & long term forecast to the organization in various forms and reports:
- Procurement forecast by supplier by month, in quantity and value;
- Repair Forecast by supplier by month, in quantity and value;
- Disposal Forecast including sub-assemblies to be recovered;
- Forecasted inventory levels;
- Participate in the evaluation, recommendation and implementation of a computerized data management system taking into account not only the needs of the organization but also the customers and suppliers;
- Support material management specialist in the use of our MRP:
- Acts as a subject matter expert (SME) for the supply chain;
- Act as a data analyst;
- Define the implementation strategy and data mapping;
- Performs acceptance testing;
- Act as super user and system administrator;
- 1st line of support for users;
- Writes documentation for user training;
- Lead the development and implementation of material management strategies in a multi-site context;
- Drive the implementation of continuous improvement initiatives to improve materiel management.
- Lead the development, implementation and communication of materiel management procedures;
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Operations Management, Industrial Engineering or equivalent;
- A minimum of Nine (9) years of relevant material management experience (any other equivalent combination of education and relevant experience will be considered);
- Master concepts of logistics chain and inventory management processes;
- Very good knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite;
- Advanced level knowledge for Excel;
- Knowledge of SAP an asset;
- Excellent communication skills in both French and English (oral and written);
- Analytical, Adaptability, Teamwork, Initiative skills;
- Customer service oriented;
- Available to travel (10% of the time.
Eligibility Criteria:
- Must be eligible for registration with the Controlled Goods Program;
- Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a government of Canada Reliability status and Secret Level 2/NATO Secret security clearance;
- Must be eligible to meet the requirements for U.S. International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).
