Job Description:
L3Harris is looking for a TDM Tier 2 Network Operations Engineer who will support a large nationwide customer. This individual will be a key member of the Network Operations Control Center (NOCC), and they will closely support the geographically dispersed network and team located throughout North America. The TDM Tier 2 Network Operations Engineer will directly interface with internal and external customers and service providers. They will be responsible for providing TDM Tier II level assistance to other subgroups of the FTI program, supporting Operations, managing special projects, resolving issues of the highest complexity, and performing on call duties in a 24/7 environment.
Job Description:
- Operation and maintenance of the Network Optical Backbone SONET equipment and TDM circuits.
- Resolve highly complex issues in a timely fashion.
- Proactively engage Tier 1 to facilitate learning, technical direction, and the flow of operations.
- Review network event data and determine causes of alarms and events to conduct efforts to resolve network event issues.
- Scheduling, tracking and performing maintenance on FTI CPE and services.
- Submits Program Tracking Reports (PTR) for facility, equipment, and service changes.
- Orders replacement parts for repair activities and tracks shipment.
- Supports on-call responsibilities and work after-hours as required.
- Creates detailed documentation for technical and training purposes.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience. Graduate Degree or equivalent with 0 to 2 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 6 years of prior related experience.
- Minimum of (2) Years’ networking technologies experience with SONET and/or Time Division Multiplexing (TDM).
- Minimum of 1 Years’ change management, network management, and network technology experience.
Preferred Additional Skills:
- Experience as a NOS working in the FTI PNOCC troubleshooting.
- Knowledge of all aspects of the FTI/FAA communications network infrastructure.
- Understanding of NAS Operations ticket management and scheduled maintenance processes and procedures.
- Knowledge of NAS Operations service types and service delivery methods.
- Knowledge of event and alarm correlation.
- Experience working with minimal supervision and ability to lead in a team environment.
- Project management skills capable of adhering to deadlines and completion of tasks according to project schedule.
- Subject matter expert level knowledge of service types, service design, alarm generation and flow.
- Experience creating and presenting training documents and technical procedures.
- Experience with Microsoft Office software applications.
- Communication skills and ability to develop effective working relationships with other departments supporting Operations.
