Position Summary:L3Harris is seeking a Principal, Operational Excellence, to join our Corporate Operations team. This enterprise-level role is responsible for leading high-impact initiatives that enhance how we govern, measure, improve, and communicate operational and business performance across L3Harris. The position will partner cross functionally across corporate and segment operations teams to streamline critical processes and certifications, modernize systems and tools, establish governance and benchmarking frameworks, and enable digital transformation to enable more robust business decisions. This role reports to the Corporate Vice President of Quality, Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the development, execution and adoption of the LHX Operational Excellence (OpEx) framework, including maturity models, assessments, and benchmarking tools
- Design and implement a corporate-wide OpEx maturity scale and support site-specific and functional excellence maturity plans
- Rebrand and deploy 6S (5S + Safety) and expand framework adoption across manufacturing operations
- Incorporate automation and digital advancement into the OpEx structure and recommend best-fit solutions partnering with Manufacturing Technology leads
- Develop and maintain corporate-level Quality, Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement policy and procedure documentation, including participation in Policy Review Board (PRB) and Business Resilience (BR) activities
- Lead and streamline the LHX Awards process to enhance the culture and recognition of Operational Excellence across the enterprise
- Maintain benchmarking dashboards and tools while managing external benchmarking relationships to gather insights that can be integrated into our strategy
- Manage and enhance SharePoint sites including consolidation and content curation for a more meaningful user experience and successful functional integration
- Serve as a central coordinator for the Corporate Training Council and administer success factor tools and metrics
- Track significant capital investments and partner with Finance to ensure integration of Manufacturing Cost Centers into PDC & AOP processes
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree and 12 years experience or a Graduate degree and 10 years prior related experience in manufacturing engineering, process improvement, and operating systems. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 16 years of prior related experience.
- 5 years plus in a leadership experience.
Preferred Additional Skills:
- Green Belt certification required; Black Belt preferred
- Strong project management, communication, and influencing skills
- Proficiency in data analytics, process modeling, and change management
- Experience in a large, matrixed aerospace or manufacturing organization
- Familiarity with corporate scorecards, training platforms, and enterprise IT systems
- Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, equipment, and systems
- Experience with Lean, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to present and discuss strategy and analysis
- Proven ability to lead and develop high-performing teams
- Proficiency in CAD software and other engineering tools
- Experience with regulatory compliance and safety standards in manufacturing
