Job Description:
L3Harris is seeking a Software Engineer to support a Research and Development Contract (RDC) who will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining large-scale image processing software. The Software Engineer will work with cross-functional engineering teams to develop software interfaces in accordance with operational performance requirements and overall system design. The ideal candidate will have experience with scalable data infrastructure, image processing, and geospatial applications.
Essential Functions:
- Design, develop, test, integrate, and sustain software components using C++ and/or Python
- Support the full software development lifecycle, including requirements analysis, design, implementation, code review, integration, test, deployment, and sustainment
- Develop and maintain software interfaces, services, and data-processing capabilities supporting mission applications
- Troubleshoot software defects and support integration, test, and deployment activities
- Apply secure software-development practices and comply with program security requirements
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree and minimum 4 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 8 years of prior related experience
- Eligible to obtain a TS/SCI security clearance
Preferred Additional Skills:
- Thorough understanding of software engineering principles and industry best practices, including Agile development
- Experience with object-oriented design, debugging, and software integration
- Proficiency developing and maintaining software applications using C++ and/or Python
- Strong written and verbal skills
- Experience with source control (Git), Agile development tools (Jira, Confluence), automated testing, and continuous software-delivery practices
- Experience developing, deploying, or sustaining applications in Amazon Web Services (AWS) environments
- Experience building or supporting cloud-native applications using containers, Kubernetes, or related orchestration platforms
- Familiarity with image-processing concepts, algorithms, and analysis techniques
- Familiarity with remote-sensing systems, including sensor modalities, data collection, and geospatial applications
- Active TS/SCI security clearance
In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role in the state of California is $97,000 - $180,000. The salary range for this role in the state of Florida is $84,500 - $157,500. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
