Job Description:
The Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) Senior Associate is responsible for guiding the development, implementation, and evaluation of critical EHS processes, programs, and procedures to achieve goals, objectives, and continuous improvement related to safety, the environment, health and sustainability. The EHS Senior Associate has the responsibility to engage various teams to ensure environmental, safety and health excellence, as well as provide information and guidance for activities relating to the site wide EHS objectives and to ensure that EHS site goals are aligned with relevant division and corporate goals. The EHS Sr Associate works in a team environment where accountability for injury/illness prevention, EHS compliance assurance and asset protection is incumbent on both the leadership team and the individual.
Essential Functions:
- Implementing safe working practices and reinforce the safety policies, guidelines and procedures as set out by company and all regulatory agencies. Provide daily guidance and direction in EHS programs.
- Actively coaching peers, salaried and hourly employees on expected and acceptable safety behaviors and activities to improve and attain a goal of zero incidents.
- Providing advice, assist, and audit management to ensure that EH&S policies and procedures are implemented and working as intended.
- Responsible for preparing and maintaining environmental and regulatory records.
- Collaborating with various deparements to identify and track corrective actions when hazards are identified.
- Providing hands-on guidance regarding incident reporting/investigation program to ensure company standards and processes are met.
- Reviewing incidents to ensure Root Cause Analysis is completed to prevent reoccurrences and drive corrective actions through health checks.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree and 2 years prior experience, 2 year post-secondary/AA Degree and 6 years prior experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 6 years of prior related experience.
- Knowledge of Federal and State environmental regulations.
Preferred Additional Skills:
- OSHA 10-Hour certification.
- New Hampshire Hazardous Waste Coordinator Certificate.
- Experience working in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience using and leveraging EHS management systems, such as Gensuite.
- Strong teamwork, interpersonal, problem-solving, and analysis skills.
- Self-directed with demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks and assess priorities effectively.
- Strong written, presentation, verbal, and interpersonal skills combined with meticulous record keeping practices.
- Computer literacy in Excel spreadsheets, Power Point, Word, etc.
