Job Description:
L3Harris IVS Londonderry is seeking a motivated, skilled and experienced technician to join our Integration and Test Engineering team in support of EMC and other verification testing on world class night vision, aiming and illumination, and range finding products.
- Review night vision and laser product/component specifications and provide design/test guidance to meet EMI/EMC, battery, and audibility requirements
- Support the analysis of design failure modes and effects of electronic circuits and mechanical packaging to identify and mitigate EMI/EMC, battery, and audibility risks
- Support test lab equipment development and maintenance
- Perform/oversee night vision and laser product/component EMI/EMC (MIL-STD-461/464), battery, and audibility tests. Support other night vision product testing such as image intensification gain/resolution and compass accuracy.
- Facilitate external tests, including quoting, sourcing, and scheduling
- Analyze test failures and support the development of corrective action to resolve conducted/radiated emission/susceptibility, laser, and battery issues
- Analyze test data and create/develop test reports/summaries
- Communicate/publish test data/reports/summaries to internal/external customers
- Technical liaison activities with internal/external customers to resolve/clarify test pass/fail disputes regarding specifications/requirements and test data/reports
Essential Functions:
- Thorough knowledge in EMI/EMC design, conducted/radiated emission/susceptibility mechanisms, and MIL-STD-461/-464.
- Ability to plan, prioritize, organize, and complete multiple projects on schedule
- Ability to produce accurate and detailed test reports/summaries
- Ability to professionally communicate/present verbal/written technical reports to internal and external customers
- Ability to work under limited supervision and with internal/external customer teams
- Capability to perform complex problem solving
- MS Office/Excel, MatLab, LabView, or other related software proficiency
- Ability to travel in support of test and other related activities (up to 50%, typically daily commutes to test sites)
Qualifications:
High School Diploma or equivalent with 6 years prior experience, 2 year post-secondary/AA Degree and 2 years prior experience
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with/in EMI/EMC design simulation/analysis software, night vision and laser product/component related design, test and/or manufacturing, design/testing of printed circuit board/assemblies and high speed serial communication systems.
