Job Description:
L3Harris is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to take facility responsibility for (1) the Electrical Substation that transforms utility power from 12.5 KV to 480V and associated distribution panels/breakers throughout the facility, (2) the Motor Control Centers and Variable Frequency Drives for large systems including, but not limited to, overhead cranes, HVAC systems, electric boilers, and large doors, and (3) Uninterruptible Power Supplies (UPS) & backup generator(s).
Essential Functions:
- Design, fabrication, installation, testing and documentation of modifications for electrical facility systems including providing detailed instructions, drawings, or specifications to assist technicians with how equipment or systems are to be fabricated, constructed, assembled, modified, maintained, or used.
- Problem reporting and root cause analysis for all electrical facility systems
- Participating in the engineering configuration control process to include development of Engineering Change Requests and the supporting documentation
- Analysis of all electrical facility systems with an eye for improvements in maintenance and operations.
- Prepare and deliver presentations as required.
- Oversee testing of critical facility systems.
- Set up and operate test equipment to evaluate performance of critical facility systems under simulated operating conditions, record result and provide data/quality records at project reviews.
- Review existing electrical engineering criteria and procedures to identify necessary revisions, deletions or amendments to outdated material.
- Perform operations and maintenance engineering that encompasses the maintenance, repair, and operation of the critical facilities systems utilized during spacecraft processing.
- Apply system engineering experience to perform functions such as system integration, configuration management and quality assurance testing to ensure compliance with integrated master schedule.
- When scheduled, respond to all off-shift facility anomalies and document discrepancies to determine root cause and provide action plans for corrective action.
- Regularly walking and moving around job site to manage projects, vendors, or work tasks
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in engineering and minimum 4 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 8 years of prior related experience.
- Eligible to obtain a TS/SCI security clearance
- Experience reading, understanding, and working from Standard Operating Procedures, electrical drawings, and Instrumentation Diagrams
- Prior or current experience with maintenance management and scheduling tasks
- Experience managing projects and supervising contractors and/or vendors performing work in the facility
- Experience working with/on Industrial Facility Electrical and power distribution systems
Preferred Additional Skills:
- Active TS/SCI security clearance highly preferred
- 5+ years of experience
- Strong oral and written communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently within a cross-functional team
- Strong presentation skills
- Ability to multi-task and manage/accommodate multiple projects simultaneously
- Design, installation and testing of modifications to the following systems:
- Industrial Facility Electrical Systems and power distribution
- Digital Control Systems
- Emergency Power systems
- Diesel generators
- Un-Interruptible power supplies
- Proficiency in 3D CAD, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, Project)
- Inventory & spares
- Life Cycle maintenance
- Clean Room Operations and Protocols
- Crane Operations and Protocols and sustainment
- Developing Purchase Requisitions for Sub-contracting
- Make/buy value assessments
In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role is $90,500.00 -$168,500.00. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
