Job Description:

L3Harris Technologies Inc. offers a complete line of propulsion products from launch vehicles to missile defense to advanced hypersonic propulsion. These have been used in a wide variety of government and commercial applications, including the main engines for the space shuttle, Atlas and Delta launch vehicles, missile defense systems, and Space Launch Systems. Join our team as a Specialist, Facilities Engineer in our Stennis Space Center Facilities group.

Essential Functions:

• Assisting in development of plans and specifications for the renovation of facilities or for the construction of new facilities, reviews plans and specifications for accuracy and completeness
• Coordinate with all functions required for assigned projects and facilities activities
• Possesses working knowledge of CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems)
• Directing projects of moderate scope and complexity, including facility design and construction, office and plant layout, equipment and furniture relocation, etc.
• Monitoring project status and ensures that contractual requirements are met
• Working with other departments in conceptual development, estimates, and final design efforts
• Developing standard computerized specifications

• Overseeing contractor activity in support of facility & equipment maintenance plans and projects to support various program initiatives

• Overseeing custodial, lawn care, and other buildings and grounds operations and staff for office, operations, and warehouse environments 
• Preparing appropriate records to accurately reflect the status and cost of projects from inception through completion, maintains accuracy of facility drawings

• May coordinate the preparation of technical documents and work instructions with other engineering disciplines
• Must be eligible to obtain a DOD Secret Security Clearance which requires US Citzenship. 
• Knowledge of electrical & mechanical equipment such as high pressure pneumatic, cryogenic, and hydraulic systems, etc. 
  • Demonstrated ability in Electrical, mechanical, and/or HVAC maintenance
  • Knowledge of Material Handling (MH) systems and Lifting Devices and Equipment (LDE) maintenance and proof testing
  • Experience managing various contractor and maintenance disciplines
  • Experience managing facility custodial operations
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Continuous Improvement initiatives
  • Drafting and working to Planning and schedules preventive maintenance and repair assignments detailed work instructions
  • Working knowledge of CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems)
  • Coordinating Continuous Improvement efforts as directed
  • May assign work to direct less senior employees as appropriate and required
  • Monitoring project status and ensures that contractual requirements are met

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 4 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 8 years of prior related experience.

Preferred Additional Skills:

• May perform limited budget and schedule responsibilities for projects
• Aerospace background with A&P license, military, or 10+ years of equivalent experience is beneficial
• Oversight of contractor activity in support of facility & equipment maintenance plans and projects to support various program initiatives
