Job Description:
We are seeking a Specialist, Quality Engineer to join the Aerojet Rocketdyne Segment in Huntsville, AL. This individual will report to the Head of Segment Quality, and provide Quality Engineering support for various projects spanning both Missile Solutions and Space Propulsion and Power Systems Sectors.
Essential Functions:
Acting as a central point of communication, ensuring that all team members are aligned with project goals, timelines, and budgets; This Specialist QE will take on critical projects supporting / leading operational and financial imperatives for the AR Quality discipline as follows:
45% Nonconformance Burndown Project - Drive Segment Wide NC optimization in driving down the aged backlog of NCs. Receive inputs, investigate, analyze data, and develop outputs for management tracking; and executive reporting. Interface with all 9 AR site Quality Leaders in driving execution of NC Burndown plans.
45% Zero Defect Planning (ZDP) - Leverage ZDP Process to reduce risk and drive quality / Cost of Poor Quality (CoPQ) improvements in the Segment. Interface with all 9 AR site Quality Leaders in driving execution of ZDP plans / timelines, and results.
20% Project Governance - Insert oneself into the AR Segment Quality Leadership Team, while developing a relationship with the remote sites Quality Leaders. Act as the Quality Business Manager in the development and creation of reporting in focus areas of Monthly Operations, Business, Financial Reviews; and Quality Corrective Action Board (CAB) execution.
10% Power BI Hub - Partner with Business Intelligence Team in developing next generation of data management / reporting dashboard suite. Act as a liaison between Quality teams and Business Intelligence practitioners.
Up to 20% business travel to L3Harris and customer sites.
Ability to obtain US Security Clearence.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 4 years of prior Quality experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior Quality experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 8 years of prior Quality experience.
Preferred Additional Skills:
Experience collaborating within a Microsoft 365 environment, with proficiency in the included applications (e.g. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams)
Project Management experience.
Effective verbal and written communication skills.
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work within a close-knit team environment; highly motivated team player.
Ability to analyze, evaluate and develop solutions to a variety of situations.
High Attention to Detail.
Ability to work self-reliantly.
Must consistently meet deadline commitments.
