Job Description:
Seeking a highly skilled and proactive Senior Manager to lead the Material Program Management (MPM) Division for Aerojet Production Programs. This role is critical in leading an expert team of Supply Chain/Material Management (SC/MM) professionals, developing material strategies, and representing the SCMM division to support a portfolio of Programs and Business Development activities.
Essential Functions:
- Develop and document comprehensive strategies, plans, and processes to manage the material supply chain, ensuring its seamless integration into the Program Management plan.
- Lead the Supply Chain portion of development and production proposals, including planning and execution of affordability, supplier quality and other supplier performance improvement initiative, being submitted to Government and Prime Contractor programs.
- Support negotiation of subcontracts and assist in the development of supplier baseline program plans including development of supplier budget and schedule baselines, consistent with program plans.
- Prepare presentations and lead teams in presentations to peers, customers, suppliers and managers.
- Serve as the main point of contact to customers regarding all supply chain-related program activities within the Division, ensuring clear, effective, and timely communication. Leads a team of MPM managers and MPMs assigned to the division. Prioritizes work for each program within the portfolio and reports to the Director of SC/MM.
- Work directly with Program Management to align supply chain objectives with overall program goals, driving program success.
- Represent procurement on Integrated Program Teams (IPTs), ensuring that supply chain considerations are fully integrated into program decisions.
- Collaborate with various departments to resolve material status issues, address problems, and ensure the smooth flow of materials.
- Manage the financial aspects of supply chain operations, including budgeting, forecasting, and cost control, to enhance overall program profitability.
- Provide expert SC/MM leadership in support of business development initiatives, contributing to the growth and success of the organization.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree and a minimum of 12 years of supply chain experience or Graduate Degree and a minimum of 10 years of supply chain experience or in lieu of a degree, minimum of 16 years of supply chain experience
Preferred Additional Skills:
- Knowledge of supply chain management, lean manufacturing, assembly and ATP processes required.
- Ability to use technical knowledge and experience to evaluate plans, processes and results of the supporting team is required.
- Excellent communication skills, self-motivation, strong leadership skills, and interpreting program management, engineering and supplier demands in a continuously changing environment with minimal guidance.
- Solid working knowledge of project management methods within the defense acquisition environment including program planning, integrated master scheduling, budgeting and earned value management.
- Ability to implement product design and development stage gate process (reviews for design, build, and test) is required.
- Must have working capability in the use of typical office computer programs for conduct of program management such as MS PowerPoint (presentations, logic diagrams), MS Project (basic scheduling), MS Excel (entering formulas, graphing, developing spreadsheets), and MS Word (tables, program plans).
