Job Description:
We are looking for a Reliability Engineer to perform analyses on a wide variety of programs and help influence the design.
Looking for an Affordability Engineer to support design to cost efforts on programs.
Essential Functions:
- 50% - Affordability Engineering Support of AR Programs. Typical duties may include, but not be limited to, the following:
- Lead or assist with should-cost estimates for proposals.
- Lead or assist with PRICE TruePlanning estimates of propulsion system costs and associated component costs.
- Lead or support Design-to-Cost efforts on programs.
- Embrace a continuous improvement mindset.
- Create and improve training materials and possibly deliver training sessions.
- 50% - Reliability and System Safety Engineering Support of AR Programs. Typical duties may include, but not be limited to, the following:
- Develop reliability and safety models/analyses for various systems and communicate results to company engineers and managers.
- Perform technical review of reliability and systems safety analysis products, including failure modes effects and criticality analysis and hazard analysis.
- Provide design input to improve product reliability and/or safety when necessary; Interacting with a wide variety of individuals and teams to communicate results.
- Design reliability and/or system safety test plans to qualify new product and processes. Evaluate testing failures and ensure consistent adherence to high quality standards by application of reliability techniques.
- Perform Probabilistic Risk Assessments.
- Provide Affordability Assessments with should-cost estimates for proposals.
- Lead or assist with PRICE TruePlanning estimates of propulsion system costs and associated component costs.
- Provide Reliability Engineering analyses on a wide variety of programs and help influence the design. This includes defining the proper level of reliability scope for each program, helping identify associated risks, fully understanding customer requirements and expectations.
- Performing Reliability Engineering as early in the program life cycle as possible, efficiently completing reliability efforts within budget and schedule, and communicating progress and results effectively and efficiently.
- Ability to obtain a US Security Clearance.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree and minimum of 9 years of prior Reliability Engineering experience. Graduate degree and a minimum of 7 years of prior Reliability Engineering experience. In lieu of degree, minimum of 13 years of prior Reliability Engineering experience.
Preferred Additional Skills:
- Statistical analysis experience is preference.
- Have a general understanding of solid rocket motor design and analysis.
- Have a working knowledge of PRICE TruePlanning software or similar systems.
- Have a working knowledge of Reliasoft, Relex software or similar systems.
- Knowledge or experience with system safety, hazard classification, material handling or logistics are a plus.
- Active US Security Clearance is a plus.
