Job Description:
The Aerojet Rocketdyne Segment of L3Harris is currently seeking an experienced Lead, Program Manager. This role will be located at our Huntsville, AL Missile Solutions Sector Headquarters facility. The Lead, Program Manager will provide strategic vision and leadership for the execution of major production rate increases and will be directly accountable for ensuring successful ramp-up from current baseline. Within this role, the Program Manager will work closely with Production Program Managers to develop strategies for efficiencies, technical solutions, and to ensure financial program success.
Essential Functions:
- Under minimal direction, develop and execute a comprehensive rate increase plan, including capacity expansion, digital manufacturing improvements, tooling/facilities upgrades, and supplier development to support rate increases.
- Lead modeling of labor, equipment, and supplier capacity; determine staffing curves and optimize labor ramp profiles to reduce risk and cost
- Coordinate supplier assessments, readiness reviews, and mitigation plans to ensure sub-tier capacity aligns with program rate increases
- Provide the primary Aerojet Rocketdyne interface with the customer for rate ramp activities. Develop and implement plans for follow-on production programs including proposal development, submittal, negotiation, and definitization in pursuit of strategic growth.
- The ability to lead cross-function Integrated Product Teams (IPTs) is required to coordinate execution.
- Establish and maintain program baseline, including the Integrated Master Schedule (IMS), resource forecasts, and Earned Value Management (EVM) compliance.
- Must be able to manage all associated risks and opportunities related to rating ramp, implementing proactive mitigation strategies.
- Participates in the forecast of awards/margins and sales/profit for assigned programs as part of the Aerojet Rocketdyne business planning cycle. Provides guidance and assistance to the project team in meeting established schedules or to resolve complex technical or operations problems.
- Business travel up to 25% to other L3Harris and customer sites.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree with a minimum of 9 years of relevant program management experience, Graduate Degree with a minimum of 7 years of related program management experience, or 13 years of prior related program management experience in lieu of a degree.
- Active U.S. Secret Security Clearance.
- 4+ years of EVM/CAM experience.
- 4+ years experience managing multiple DOD projects.
Preferred Additional Skills:
- Master’s Degree in an appropriate discipline.
- Project Management Institute (PMI) certification.
- Knowledge of Tooling & Test Equipment.
- Production rate increase (proposal & execution).
- Experience working with suppliers and subcontract management.
- Extensive knowledge of financial management and business development practices.
- Experience with DoD contract execution.
